Let's dance-Maraca fun

I've seen so many creative ways to make maracas, and I thought this one was great! We have two sets of store bought maracas. I  wanted something my daughter could make, and later have fun with. My daughter took a few different sharpies, and created art on the plastic eggs. Once she was done, we filled them up with macaroni noodles. (Which I forgot to mention as one of the things needed on the picture above)
Below you can view the video we played and danced to. We had a lovely time.

Have fun shaking your maracas!!!!!

Let's cook (outdoor play cooking) and create and count at the play-doh market

Outdoor Play Cooking
We had so much fun today! We did some outdoor play cooking. For this we used a few spaghetti noodles, rice, and a few herbs. My daughter enjoyed combining everything, and stirring it all up.
I used some empty tooth pick containers as the salt and pepper shakers. It was so fun, and very hands on.

Weekend love- (Beautiful summer)

A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken.

Beautiful summer days, and nights are spent with my family. We enjoy spending time in the garden, and cutting fresh flowers. Our daughter enjoys evenings out playing with water, and drawing with chalk. The clouds move in, and the sun peaks through. It's so beautiful, these summer days, and nights. I'm thankful for all that we have, and the time we spend together. My flowers are blooming, so many beautiful colors. We spend a lot of time creating art, and exploring with different colors of paint. I find so much happiness in the little things. Lately I've been cooking up a few new dishes, and baking like the Fall season has arrived.(Especially when we have our rainy evenings). We enjoy cozy nights spent out on the patio. We play music, and dance with our little one. Oh what a beautiful summer it has been. Where do you find your happiness?  I hope you all have had a lovely weekend with your love ones as well.

Simple Diy Summer vegetable/flower seed packaging

Simple Summer vegetable/flower seed packaging
for gift giving

This  simple and personalized packaging is perfect for gift giving.
I once put together a gardening gift for my mother. It included a hand shovel, vegetable seeds, and a cute pot for planting. (And gardening gloves, of course).
I decided to put together this simple packing for seeds. I purchased these cute tags at Target.

Fold your craft paper/card stock in half and cut.
Staple the sides leaving an opening at the top.
Using washi tape apply it to your packaging. (I did this to cover the staples).
Once you are done, you can either put your seed package directly into your handmade packaging, or you can open and drop your seeds into your package.(If you drop your seeds directly into your packaging, make sure to use washi tape to close off the top. This way the seeds are secure inside).  It's really that simple!
Enjoy~

Play-Doh Cafe

Today at Play-Doh cafe, we grilled up some hot dogs, baked a delicious pizza, and found a one of a kind recipe for moms homemade meatballs to add to our Italian seasoned spaghetti. We served up root beer floats, and  Italian cream sodas. Our pug dined in and when he was finished he left us a very nice tip! Oh what fun we had with our pretend play.

And a little flower...

Weekend love-Rain/Sunshine, paint, baking and more!

What a lovely weekend it has been! Thursday we enjoyed some light rain. This weekend the weather went from cool, back to the warmer temps. I've been enjoying opening up the windows, and hanging a few clothes out on our portable clothes line. (We recently bought it, and I love it) I still use our dryer, but I like to change it up some time. I've also been enjoying the time we spend out on our porch. I can't wait for Fall weather to arrive.

It's nice seeing some color in our vegetable garden.  Our daughter loves helping with picking tomatoes from the vine. We bought a few different pepper plants, and last weekend we cooked up a dish using some jalapenos from the garden. Our plan for our tomatoes is to add it when we make our chicken kabobs.

Over the weekend my husband decided to make some Jerky. We picked up Jerky cure and seasoning from  Sportsmen's warehouse. He made chicken and steak jerky. Of course they turned out delicious! :)

This morning, I made some delicious blueberry donuts with glaze. I found this wonderful recipe over at Hearts in my oven. I came across the recipe on Pinterest (which of course I pinned) Then I visited her blog, and was thrilled to make baked donuts with our morning coffee. They turned out wonderful. My husband and I enjoyed them with our morning coffee, and our daughter had them with a glass of cold milk. What a lovely morning treat it was for us all.

I've been putting together little busy trays for our daughter. This one included stamps, stickers, Popsicle sticks, and cut out shapes. I also dropped in crayons, and strips of paper. She's been practicing cutting paper with her safety scissors. Each tray will have a few different activities.

My husband and I enjoyed a nice Date this afternoon. While out this weekend we picked up some paint, and two canvases.  During our daughters nap, we enjoyed some time painting together. We watched a watercolor painting tutorial on YouTube.
I can definitely see adding this to our date list. We had a great time!

How did you spend your weekend? Did you do any baking or any fun activity?
I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend with your love ones! And also thank you to my new readers, and Google + followers, so happy to have you with me on this wonderful journey. Welcome!

Snakes in the desert (Craft for little ones)

Snakes In The Desert-craft

I may have been missing Arizona's desert life when I came up with this craft for my daughter. :) She seemed to enjoy it, and it was a quick craft to do together.

Materials needed:
-TP roll
-Paper plate
-Paint/paint brushes
-Scissors
-A few rocks
-Craft eyes
-Glue
I started off with cutting the TP roll, then using my scissors to wrap and pull the TP roll. This causes it to spiral and curl. (This is what you want to do for the snakes body).

Next paint each one. (Allow it to dry for a few) Once it's dry glue on your craft eyes. I took a paper plate and cut out the center and we used brown paint to paint it. After allowing that to dry, we then glued on our snakes. (I used some left over TP roll and made a cactus for our desert).  Grab a few rocks from outside, and set it up so that it looks as though your snakes are in the desert. All done!
Enjoy~

Weekend love-(Bonding together)

“cozy+smell of pancakes-alarm clock=weekend”
― Amy Krouse Rosenthal

The smell of rain lingers, hello morning sunlight it's so nice to see you.  There is joy and laughter among us. Once again I am at peace. :)
Weekends are spent bonding, and creating new memories as a family. We get to set aside our busy schedules we have during the week, and kick back and just enjoy each other's company more. This weekend the weather was cool. It rained, and I took out my oil burner. Our home was filled with the aroma of apple spice. (This is when I realized, I am pretty excited for autumn to arrive). What season do you enjoy the most? I'm torn between autumn, and  spring.

 Exploring with beads.

My daughter and I enjoyed creating art. This can even be done on ceramic plates. We used two of our ceramic coffee cups. Taking permanent markers, just create your art. After pre-heat your oven to 350, and bake for 30 minutes. As far as it washing off, we haven't had any problems with that. I have read on other sites though that they had a problem with it washing off. We are just using ours for display.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend creating new memories with your love ones.
