Slowing down..

“Sometimes our stop-doing list needs to be bigger than our to-do list.”  ―  Patti Digh It has been a bit hectic around here. I think we're in need of rest. Our days seem long and hectic. Maybe soon... things will start slowing down. This week: -We continued our lessons. Reading lessons are slowing down. - Right now our oldest daughter is sick. Just a common cold. But she is definitely in need of rest. -Warm baths, vapor rub, and warm drinks. - This seems to be helping out some. I've washed and sanitized things around our house.  - So far little one, daddy and I are cold-free. I'm sure it will sneak up on me when I least expect it. We're still working on lessons and this week she's learning about ladybugs. Once she is feeling better, we'll head out and go on an outdoor adventure.  Our littlest one has been fussy. - Maybe she's teething?! I haven't seen or felt any teeth that may be coming in. She&#

Lately.

“Is the spring coming?" he said. "What is it like?"... "It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine...”  ―  Frances Hodgson Burnett ,  The Secret Garden Ah, flowers are blooming. The sun is shining. Bubbles are being blown.  There's doodling with chalk. Sprinklers are on. Flowers are on display in my kitchen. More hikes and family walks. More time in the garden. Park days. Family events at the local library.   The last event was a hula party. It was fun for all ages! Block building.- Our oldest enjoys her morning building blocks before we start her lessons. Baby giggles and a whole lot of babbling.  Now that our little one has mastered saying "mama" and "Dada", she can't get enough of it. - We absolutely love it!  How have you all been? How are you enjoying your days lately? Welcome new readers. So happy to have you all he

Four.

“Today you are You, that is truer than true.  There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”― Dr. Seuss A trip to the Children's Museum. A bite to eat at a cute pizzeria. Her big day arrived... On April 7th, we celebrated our oldest daughter turning 4.  I honestly don't know where the time goes. I remember when she was first learning to crawl. Now she's running around and reading to us. Ah, I absolutely love this little girl... Dear sweet one, It's hard to believe that Dad and I once lived without you. You're sweet, bright, bubbly, and so lovable. Just how we imagined you would be.  You mean the world to us. We would do anything for you. Now you are 4. - Full of energy, a great big sister, and an amazing daughter. I hope you know just how loved you are.

Around here.- Lately..

Around here.- Lately... - Planting a few seeds in the garden with my oldest. She's so excited about growing vegetables and flowers. We normally grow a few peppers, tomatoes, chives, and cilantro on our back porch. I set out a few decorative pots; so that when you step out from the kitchen you can grab your veggies and be on your way. :) I enjoy it and it's pretty simple. - I like simple things. -I have a few perennials in my flowerbed. Some have started blooming and we bought a few seeds to add in. I've been pulling up a few weeds that decided to invade our yard. This weekend we mowed and cleaned up the yard a bit. - Spring cleaning begins! -We enjoyed our trips to the library. We're super excited now that our daughter is reading on her own. The system that we had started using, has really impressed us. We do three daily reading lessons each day. Each lesson takes about 5-10 minutes. I'll include a link in the comment s
