Pumpkin doughnuts.

I always bake pumpkin doughnuts around this time of year. It's simple and we really enjoy them with warm apple cider. My four year old helps me in the kitchen. I really enjoy this time. We bake, talk and laughter fills the room. -Baking pumpkin doughnuts and making sweet memories. - This is definitely a moment worth cherishing.

Maybe you'll enjoy this simple recipe with your family...

Baked pumpkin doughnuts.

You will need:

1 doughnut pan
non stick baking spray or oil to grease your pan.

Dry ingredients:
1 cup of flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 cup of light brown sugar
optional- a pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon

Wet ingredients:
1 egg
1/3 cup of pumpkin puree
1/4 cup of milk

1/3 cup of confectioners sugar
1 tsp of cinnamon
1 tsp of milk (or as needed)
Caramel syrup

Combine and mix dry ingredients in mixing bowl.  Add in wet ingredients and gently mix. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.  Prepare a doughnut pan by spraying some non stick spray. I used an olive oil spray. Add your doughnut mixture to a sandwich bag and cut off one corner of your bag.- This will make it easier to fill your doughnut pan. Once you are finished, place your doughnuts in the oven and bake for 9-10 minutes. Now you can start preparing your glaze. Add in confectioners sugar, cinnamon and milk. Once out of the oven, spread some glaze and drizzle with caramel syrup.

Here we are.

So here we are.- Busy days, sleepless nights, headaches and a few other things in between.
A new week and little one is still teething. Our weekend was long. Truthfully I felt like a zombie and wanted nothing more than to sleep, sleep and sleep some more. Of course that didn't happen! But hey it's life and I'm okay with that. Our little one ran a slight fever. She's teething and she's a bit fussy and seems to only want mama. So yes, I'm tired, achy and I may be getting a little fussy as well. -My coffee is currently decaf and doesn't do much for me. But a hot shower seems to help quite a bit.

My eyes are slightly red and I've been experiencing headaches. I haven't been as hydrated as I should be. Today I've been making sure to drink more water and maintain my sanity. I was able to make it through lessons with my oldest. She sat after lessons were done and worked on a nice fall collage. Paper clippings and leaf punch-outs took over our dining room table. - Honestly, it was just fine. During her collage making her sister napped. It was peaceful and I enjoyed watching her gather her pictures for her collage.- Ah, it was quiet. I watched her as she concentrated on her creation.

I've been enjoying my new pumpkin candle. I couldn't resist the sale going on at Joann's. I managed to only purchase three items. One of those being my pumpkin candle. It smells amazing. I normally burn it in the morning and  afternoon.  It's getting cold here and my four year old is excited about the current snow reports. We're actually hearing that we may get some snow later on this week. I'm not so thrilled about it. - Can you tell that I'm a little fussy?! Okay, but really I've never been a big fan of snow. I'm so happy she enjoys it and I'm happy she expresses this much excitement.

I've started taking out thicker blankets and I'll have a basket for our gloves, hats and scarves.- Looks like we'll be needing it soon. Hopefully we will get our sprinklers blown out soon. There's so much to do.

Here we are.
Getting through what is left of this month.
I'm sure I haven't lost my mind yet.
In the end..
I'm here, alive, healthy and maybe I'll catch up on my sleep soon!

“I find it incredibly amazing how at every sunset, the sky is a different shade. No cloud is ever in the same place. Each day is a new masterpiece. A new wonder. A new memory.”

It's 5 o' clock in the afternoon...
There's just something about this time.
There's so much warmth in the lighting.
The sun shines so brightly through each window.
There's a sense of peace in our home.
The girls play together.- Dress up and blocks.
My husband is always so kind to help in the kitchen.- This day he was preparing spaghetti.
After a long day of lessons, daily chores and chasing little ones around..
I relax for a few with a nice glass of ice coffee.

This is the time that we gather around.- Play, cook, relax and talk.- Honestly, it's perfect.
We enjoy this time.

Hello new readers. I'm so happy to have you all here. And to all my readers, thank you for joining me on my blogging journey. You're all just so lovely.~

10 things I love about Autumn.

“It looked like the world was covered in a cobbler crust of brown sugar and cinnamon.”

1. The cool air.- Ah, it's perfect and I just fall in love all over again with this Autumn weather.

2. Fall scents.- Candles, oils, sprays and spices.- Ah, it's wonderful. I'll normally use my warmer around this time. :)

3. Warm soups.- Around this time our pots and slow cooker are filled with soups. I love preparing chicken soup, or vegetable barley soup. We enjoy this time.- Every year around Halloween I make cider in our slow cooker. It's nice coming in from the cold and warming up with something so delicious.

4.Outdoor play.- In Autumn it just feels different. The cool air, kids running through leaves and parents gather and sip on warm drinks. We love tossing up leaves! It's so much fun. :)

5. Fall crafts.- Oh boy, I enjoy this so much! We gather leaves, twigs, paper, stamps, stickers and much more. My oldest daughter loves creating new things. It's fun for the whole family.

6.Coffee stops.- I love the quick coffee stops my husband and I make when we're out and about. We mainly prepare our coffee at home, but it's nice to pick up a quick cup of coffee while we are out. -We drink our coffee, share laughter and make memories.

7. Fall events.- We love attending fall events. We recently took a family trip to the Fall Harvest Family Fest. We enjoyed hayrides, games, and they passed out candy for the little ones. Our schedule this month is packed.- We're making crafts at the library, attending trail events, carving pumpkins and much more.

8.Apple picking.- When I was a little girl my mother would take us apple picking all the time. It was nice. We would enjoy fresh hot cider, wagon rides and of course apple picking. I hope to continue this with my girls. -

9. Baking.- This weather is perfect for baking! What's your favorite dish to bake?

10. Autumn pictures.- I love going out in nature and taking beautiful fall pictures. - I'll take  both nature photos and pictures of my family. We actually have a favorite spot we visit. We'll go out there and set up and take pictures.

October.- Lately.

October lately.

- Crafts.- We've been busy making cute spiders and monsters. - Some with three eyes and others with funky feet. ;)  We're definitely enjoying this time.

-Reading- We've been reading a lot of books.- Our oldest will normally check out which books she wants from the library.- If we miss a trip to the library, we'll just pull a book from our bookshelf. So on our down time we enjoy cuddling up with a  good book.

-Baking- This weekend we made a simple batch of sugar cookies. We added frosting and
Sprinkles.- There were a few we decorated with icing.- This was a very enjoyable time with my family.

-Games- We absolutely love playing games as a family. -This weekend it was Monopoly Junior.

-Building- Our oldest daughter has built a fire truck and a haunted bird house. We've been going to the workshops at both Lowe's and Home Depot. She loves it and we love that she enjoys being so hands on with these little projects.

How are you enjoying your time this month?

Welcome new readers!

Autumn: Pumpkin pie spice scrub.- A Diy post

Fall weather has arrived.
It's been cool, with a gentle breeze.
I'm excited about the cooler weather.
But, during this time my skin and lips tend to get a bit dry.

With this simple  scrub recipe your lips/body will feel soft,
smooth and stay moisturized through out the day.
I love making my own body/lip scrubs.

Here is what you'll need:
-Pumpkin pie spice
-Coconut oil
-Measuring spoon (1 teaspoon)
-Small bowl
-Airtight container

Start with 2 teaspoons of sugar.
Add in 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice.
Mix together.
Combine 1 teaspoon of coconut oil to sugar and spice.
Mix all ingredients together.
Now you're ready to add it to your airtight container.
With this recipe you can make more if you are wanting to use it as a body scrub.

You're all done!
