I'm so thankful for being able to wake up and see my beautiful daughter smile, she fills my life with so much joy, and just so much love between my husband and I! So what did you wake up being thankful for this morning? Maybe that you were able to sit and read the morning paper while sipping on a hot cup of coffee. Just these simple things in life and we must remember to stop and thank God for without him we wouldn't be able to enjoy these things! Life with an 8 month old, I absolutely love it! She keeps me busy! (Love every minute of it) She's all over the place, and has such a loving personality. Her smile can light up a room. We have moved on to more solids, and we have even tried whole milk yogurt for the first time this month. She seemed to enjoy it, but we will wait and see how she does the next time around. We love making her baby food, I know exactly what is going in it! List of foods we have tried so far: Yellow Squash, sweet potato, green beans, asparagus, banana, turkey, chicken, butternut squash, carrots, red apple, green apple, and mango! Hopefully I'm not missing something. So our daughters two bottom teeth are in, and now is when all those teething toys, wet wash clothe, and other teething items come in handy. :) So it's now 8 months, and I'm still breastfeeding (and she now has teeth) its good and bad! Let me start off with what's good about it..I'm able to give her all the antibodies, and nutrients she needs through my breast milk, and it's now been 8 months of exclusive breast milk! (I'm super proud of myself) Now what's bad about it is now she likes to bite! Ouch! I'm just thankful that I've been able to make it this far with breastfeeding. Make sure you have positive people and resources around if you decide on breastfeeding, it makes a BIG difference! Well today was a great day, and I hope you all have had a lovely day! Until next time, have a beautiful day!

life as we know it!

I've been enjoying my time with my daughter, so happy that she is here in our lives, she brings us closer, she brightens our day. Amazing how fast they grow! Everyday she's learning something new, and it amazes us! She's such a little beauty! Baby Brezza-Um if you don't have one and you want to make your baby's food from scratch...GET ONE! Well worth it, it steams, blends, and in a snap your baby has healthy homemade baby food! We love it! 6 months and going strong with the breastfeeding, I'm so proud of myself, I have exclusively given my baby breast milk from birth until now. It was a bit of a challenge but now it's like part of our daily lives! My plan is to give her this until her first birthday whether it be me pumping breast milk, I plan on her having just my milk, no formula! (And I refuse to sit and point fingers at those who are not breastfeeding) Every person is different, and we all have our own choices we make in life. Breastfeeding is just something I stand by, and enjoy doing for our daughter. :) Life has changed quit a bit, we are busier than ever, we enjoy more naps over the weekend and as a family we have grown, not to mention life with a baby is just so fun!

Staying in shape, and being a mom

-Since I've had my daughter, life has changed so much. I'm one busy mommy, and love every minute of it! I'm so in love with her, and we just love watching her change each day. So lately both my husband and I have been each others motivation, and have been working out. I feel great and I want to continue to look and feel great. I think just because you become a mom, you should still have some "you" time. So my husband has started his p90x back up, and I have continued with my firm videos. It feels good taking time out and taking care of yourself. So as a mom I get to wash little socks, get drooled on, change who knows how many diapers, listen to non stop cooing, and babbling (which I CAN'T get enough of...I LOVE it). I just love being a mom. My husband is also on cloud 9 being a daddy. I'm so happy things worked out for the best, and everything happens for a reason. So what's for dinner tonight?! I need to start on a recipe book.

update!

It's been a while since I've been on here and posted an entry. Update-We had our little girl on April 7,2011. It was the most beautiful experience that I have ever experienced in my life. It was so emotional,I feel so blessed. We have wanted her for some time now and now that she is here, she is just beautiful, and we just love her so much. The whole labor and delivery story is pretty long so I wont get into all of it. I was 39 weeks and 3 days when she decided to make her way into the world. My water broke a quarter to 5...and from there we were on our way to the hospital. I must say my experience was a good one, she was delivered by a mid-wife. (So happy with the midwife) who delivered her. I made it to a 6 with no medications, but beyond that I needed an epidural. Contractions weren't too bad after, and then we welcomed our baby girl into the world at 6:21pm. It was beautiful, something my husband and I will remember for the rest of our lives. I'm so in love with her! She is now a little over a month, I'm so thrilled to be a mother now, there's nothing like it! Thank you God! We are so blessed.

Can't wait...

We are almost there, today marks 38 wks, and 4 days pregnant, we have 11 days to go. We are so thrilled to welcome our baby girl into this world. We give thanks to God for allowing us to have such a blessing. Just feeling her movements inside my tummy, I just can't explain the feeling. So many emotions, it's been a wonderful pregnancy, loved everything about it. She will cause me to love more, laugh more, and just be more aware of life and what it has to offer..(children seem to do that to their parents) So everything is ready, we are just waiting patiently for her arrival, we honestly cannot wait. My husband is so excited to meet her, and can't wait to hold her. I can't wait to bond with her...Just 11 more days!!!!!

Things you stumble upon...

So of course while cleaning, you stumble across a few things. We have tons of cook books and recipes. We really enjoy William Sonoma's cook books. We have a few of on soups, brunch, spanish foods, korean, the list goes on. Since being pregnant, I haven't been able to sit and have a glass of wine with my husband, but hey that doesnt matter at this point. I plan on going back to doing those simple things with my husband. (I've never been a big drinker) but a glass of wine on occassion is fine with me. I came across this recipe for a Peach and Muscat Granita, it looks delicious! We once made a coffee granita, which was to die for. Very smooth, with a little bit of irish cream, just wish we would have made enough because it was so good.

Peach and Muscat Granita

Ingredients
4 cups sliced peaches (about 2 pounds)
1 (375-ml) bottle Muscat wine
3 cups water, divided
3/4 cup sugar
Preparation
Combine peaches and wine in a food processor or blender; process until smooth. Strain peach mixture through a sieve into a large bowl; discard solids.

Combine 1 cup water and sugar in a small saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat; stir in 2 cups water.

Combine peach mixture and sugar mixture in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish, stirring with a whisk. Freeze 6 hours or until firm, stirring twice during first 2 hours

Another beautiful day!

Thank you God for yet another beautiful day! Today was so nice. It was little breezy out, but I was able to take my dog to the park get some fresh air, and also give my little one some fresh air.( Even though she hasn't arrived yet.)Mommy still needs to get out and get some fresh air. These days she is moving non stop! (I love it). Today I enjoyed a nice cup of decaf coffee,of course it's not like regular coffee, but hey I'm pregnant, and my baby doesnt need that! So we are getting there, soon I will meet my little precious baby, I cannot wait! My husband and I are just so thrilled. Thank you God for all that you have done for us, and continue to do for us!! Today was a beautiful day!! I hope it was beautiful for you as well.

It's getting closer!!

Your Baby: Month 8
Baby’s senses are continuing to improve -- when light peeks in through your (extremely) stretched belly, those tiny eyelids and irises blink and dilate. And, baby can now recognize and react to simple songs… time to start practicing your lullabies! Growth (at least inside your womb) is starting to slow, and you may notice baby descend into your pelvis at the end of this month.

Preparing for Baby...

As the days pass, we get closer and closer to meeting our little bundle of joy. I've been so excited, just to finally meet her and hold her in our arms.

So Im pretty sure Im "nesting" now. I want everything to be perfect for her arrival. We have every thing set up in her room, and we go in there from time to time and sit there and just picture how it will be when she is here. We have about 65 days left. I've already done my hospital tour, and enjoyed it. Im preparing myself for the weekly visits to the drs office once Im a little closer. It's just all so exciting.

I can't wait to see my husband with her, I know he will do an amazing job. He's already an amazing husband..so I can only imagine.
We are so ready for this new and exciting chapter in our lives.

*We can't wait to meet you sweet little lovely*-You will be loved so so so much!
