Books, and current happenings

Books and current happenings  I recently checked out a few recipe books from the library. Since we have had a lot of time at home, I figured we should try some new recipes. I hope that I'm able to make a few of these recipes soon.  Clean Eating For Every Season. Alicia Tyler This book is packed with delicious hearty meals, drink recipes, desserts,  and much more! Each section is labeled by season. There is a section on organizing a clean kitchen and pantry.  She gives you steps on how to organize your kitchen for success. Also included is a section on organizing your fridge.  I started organizing a little more since I have more time, and it is summer break.  Hungry Girl- Clean and hungry obsessed! Lisa Lillien This book is an all-natural recipe book that includes some amazing recipes! I checked this book out because I was looking for a variety of recipes that used more of a natural approach. Also, the re...

Currently reading.-A list of books to help kids welcome Spring

I have updated this post to reflect the changes that have happened since I last wrote it. My daughters have grown older and are now reading chapter books, as well as exploring new music. However, I still cherish the memories of visiting the library with them and the excitement they would show when we checked out new books. Even though their interests have changed, they still get excited about reading new books.   I have compiled a list of the Spring-themed books we borrowed, along with a brief description of each book. Enjoy! 1. Abracadabra It's Spring This book is filled with beautiful, and colorful art to get you ready for Spring. With Spring just around the corner, there's magic in the air, and so much to explore on every page. 2. Hello Spring This book is filled with beautiful photographs that keep kids engaged. There are photos of nature, kids playing, insects, and much more. I thought it was a great book to help kids celebrate the arrival of Spr...

All things.

We just finished up with our summer reading. Trips to the library, cool prizes, and a lot of fun events. Daily Thunderstorms this week. -Some are good, and some have caused flooding and other major damages. About a month or so ago, we had a major hailstorm that caused damage around town and to our home.  My flowers have daily visitors. Between the bees and hummingbirds, my garden has been getting much-needed love. I'm finding so much enjoyment in moving my body daily. It's been a while since I started my workout routine, and it just feels so nice to move daily. It has definitely become a habit. I'm looking forward to Autumn. Warm drinks, falling leaves, and comfy light sweaters.- I truly love fall weather. My husband has been roasting our coffee beans, and I really look forward to a cup of coffee in the mornings. I love the show, This Is Us. If you haven't heard of it, look it up and watch a trailer for it. Ah, so good! We re-seeded our lawn this year,...

Snapshots from our week.

At the end of the night... Warm and cozy. What a beautiful sunset. Bedtime routines. Teeth are being brushed. In between there are giggles. Of course, I put her vase on display.  Our 5 year old created this clay vase just for me. Library days. This week we spent a lot of our time attending library events. We really enjoy this time. Books, stories, music, art, and wiggling and giggling.  It's a fun time for all!

Peaceful moment.

This peaceful moment... March 2015... We arrived at our local library. My oldest daughter was happy to see the magic show. They had birds, bunnies, and a few other things for the kids to enjoy.                                               What was your peaceful moment for this week? ***** Each Thursday, I'll be posting a photo taken during a peaceful moment.

Around here.

Around here... We just celebrated our oldest daughter turning five last week. -This time she had a few special requests. We ordered her a princess cake, took her bowling, and ate breakfast at IHOP. - These were just a few things she requested.  I still can't believe that she's five. - She's excited about new adventures. We just finished her enrollment in school last week. I'll still be homeschooling her, but she will also be attending a local virtual school.- This way, she will still have teachers and social events to attend with other students. I like to think of it as having the best of both worlds. I'll be her learning coach through the process.  My husband has taken on a project with our front railing. He's been finishing up with the staining and last-minute fixtures for it. It's really coming together. I've been sprucing a few things up around our home. - Making things a bit cozier outdoor...

Our week.

This week: -We had a special play date. Playtime and a Halloween craft are included. My oldest was thrilled to have her friend over. They played, worked on a craft, and ate some delicious blueberry muffins made by my friend. -Worked on decorating our pumpkins. This year instead of carving pumpkins we decorated one and dressed up the other.  It was such a fun time. -Headed to the library. We checked out some books and attended storytime. My oldest danced and played with a few other kids. I take this time and chit-chat with a few other moms. -Ah, it's nice. -We made pumpkin cookies. -Of course, we did, it's fall time! ;)  -I purchased a few more cloth inserts for my cloth diapers. -So far I am absolutely loving this whole cloth diaper experience. - I'll have to post more about it soon!  -Found a mom and baby yoga video on youtube.-  Mum &Baby Yoga . Very cute video. My little one seemed to enjoy the gentl...
