Here we are.

Cheers to the New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful time ringing in the New Year. So much has been going on. We're actually quite busy around here these days. Our little one will be 4 months this month and she's been doing some exploring. -I enjoy early mornings with her. We read and explore around the house and I just can't get enough of her sweet cooing sounds. -She's also blowing bubbles with her cute little lips.   Our oldest has been exploring science projects. And working on a few reading lessons. I'm trying to get on a set schedule with her. -We're getting there!  It's actually quite peaceful around here. After the holidays and dealing with crowds and what not, I'm actually enjoying this peaceful time. I didn't make any New Year’s resolutions. - Honestly, I would love to just participate in a fun run and go on a few new adventures. My husband and I started back up with our fitness schedule a few months after having our little one last year....

Sweet baby.

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She   never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. a mother is something absolutely new. ~Rajneesh e She's here! We're so thrilled to welcome our sweet baby love into this world. She arrived on September 16, 2014.  With the amazing support of my husband and doula, I was able to accomplish my natural birth goals. I'm so thankful for the experience and I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity.  Lately, we have enjoyed our days embracing our new bundle of joy. Her big sister has been such a great little helper. She enjoys kissing, holding, and cuddling with her baby sister. - Sometimes I just sit and watch her stare at her little sister. - It's such a beautiful moment.  So we're all enjoying, embracing, and absolutely loving these moments spent together.  Right now we're all still adjusting to a new schedule. - Between nursing, diapers,...

Color Changing Carnations.

I remember discussing color-changing celery with my husband. He mentioned experimenting with that when he was in school. I know at some point we all have.  For this experiment we used carnations.  Take three measuring cups and fill them with water. Our daughter then put a few drops of food coloring.-At this point she was excited and ready to add in the carnations.  We allowed them to sit in the food coloring overnight. In the morning we noticed the tips of each flower had changed. Currently, they are sitting in the food coloring. I'm hoping that by this evening we will see more change in color. Have you tried this with your children? If so, how did they react to the color change? Our daughter had a few questions about the color. She specifically wanted to know how it happens.  I figured after exploring creepy crawlers we could enjoy this simple hands-on experiment.  **Update- One carnation changed entirely in color.- Going from white...

As seasons change...

“Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.”-Ashley Smith Fresh air, nature walks, park play dates...I can't wait for spring to get here! We have been having some warm weather here in Colorado, and I must say it seems as though everyone is enjoying it. I’m looking forward to nature walks with our daughter, and of course gardening. I’ve been asked which season I enjoy the most. I think I would have to say autumn. I love watching leaves fall from the trees, and the beautiful colors they turn. Everyone seems to pull out their scarves, and knitted sweaters. And we love sitting in coffee shops. So what's your favorite season? Even though autumn is one of my favorite seasons, I can't wait for spring to get here. Beautiful flowers, humming birds usually gather around my flowerbed, and I enjoy openi...
