Snow days and Mochi ice cream recipe.

"Snow was falling, so much like stars filling the dark trees that one could easily imagine its reason for being was nothing more than prettiness.”  ―  Mary Oliver Today the sun is finally out. It's been out the last few days, but it has been staying hidden behind the clouds. Today we are so fortunate to see the sun shining so brightly and beautifully. We had a few days of snow—quite a bit of snow! During our snowy days, we enjoyed warm drinks, snuggle time, books, board games, and Mochi ice cream . It's ice cream wrapped in sweet flour dough. It's delicious and so easy to prepare. Ingredients 1/2 cup of Mochiko sweet rice flour (You can find this flour in most Asian markets). 3/4 cup of water 1/4 cup of sugar Corn Starch Ice cream (Any ice cream will work. I used strawberry flavor ice cream). Optional: Food coloring. This is actually added to the flour mix. It makes it fun! I used a little bit of red food coloring. Cupcake lin...

Today.

Today A little snow arrived.- I think it was just the right amount. We wore our gloves, snow boots, and coats.  We gathered some snow. Our four-year-old made a tiny snowman.  We colored the snow with food coloring and enjoyed some cocoa.  Today was simple and filled with so much love. How's the weather over where you live? *Hello new readers! I'm so happy to have you here.

Sweet snowy adventure.

Just when we were enjoying some warmer weather... It decided to snow. And I must admit... It was beautiful out. We headed out to one of our favorite parks and  enjoyed a little time playing in the snow. Just us, some snow, and a sweet snowy adventure outdoors. - It truly was a beautiful day. **Hello and welcome new readers! So happy to have you here. And a big thank you to those who leave such kind, loving words here on my blog. I appreciate all of you. Thank you for being a part of my blogging journey. **

Winter. Around here

“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, "Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”  ―  Lewis Carroll ,  Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass Winter - snow, mittens, warm hats, scarves, and warm drinks to keep us all warm. We enjoy our time out. Playing in the snow and creating ice igloos and sweet baby snow angels. The snow falls. It's all so beautiful. We enjoy these moments.  Parks are covered with icy slides and cold swings. Our oldest daughter enjoys her time at the park. She runs, jumps, and climbs. While she plays with Dad, I carry little one around in her carrier. I take as many photos as I possibly can. I think there is just something about winter that is so beautiful.  At home, thicker blankets are out. Snowsuits, wet jackets, and snow boots stay out ...

Our week.

Friday is here. - I'm thrilled. I'm not sure if it's the fact that I may sleep in on Saturday or just the fact that I absolutely love when Friday comes around. :) We made it through the week. This week treated us well. Today I woke up feeling refreshed. - I baked some pumpkin doughnuts and sat for a few enjoying a quiet and peaceful morning. This week- was a busy one. It snowed for two days and the temps dropped pretty low. We stayed inside. Keeping warm and enjoying some apple cider. I enjoy making it in the crock pot and letting it simmer throughout the day. - The house smells amazing! I've taken out all of our winter blankets and prepared the beds.  Our oldest enjoyed a few crafts on the snow days. -We added food coloring to some snow and worked on a few coloring sheets. -I'm pretty sure she enjoyed herself. I've been using our crock pot quite a bit lately. -Last night we enjoyed a green b...
