Simple Things.- The week

Our week has been simple, and peaceful. Around this time of the year, everything seems so hectic and rushed. I vowed that we would not fall into the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.  This week we enjoyed a few simple things that bring me so much joy. We made a peppermint ice cream cake-perfect for this time of year. I've been burning my sweet sugar cookie candle. I'm sure my husband is tired of asking me if I'm baking when he enters our home. I swear this candle smells amazing. I enjoyed the mornings spent with our little one. We've been reading through a collection of illustrated poems for children. She enjoys the illustrations, just as much as I do. We spend our time working on activities; activities that involve learning colors, shapes, and counting. I try to make it as fun as possible. I've made some in the past with cinnamon and other spices. They turned out ...

Our week & weekend love.

We created (play) sugar cookies. -Decorated, and baked them. (Baking took place in my daughter's play kitchen.)  I took out beads, straws, and pipe cleaners. We built robots and made a few interesting sculptures. We had a wonderful time!  Weekend... On a cold snowy morning; we spent it indoors eating a delicious breakfast at  Kneaders Bakery & Cafe . My husband enjoyed an all-you-can-eat order of chunky cinnamon french toast. Our little one and I enjoyed a freshly baked cinnamon bun.  Our time was also spent downtown. We attended a children's holiday magic event; it was wonderful, and filled with cheer.  They read the Polar Express, and we enjoyed some lovely performances. (Song Spi...
