Warm Citrus tea.

I love this wonderful recipe that is packed with vitamin C. It's beneficial when you're battling a cold or just need an extra boost of vitamin C. The recipe for this hot Citrus tea is from the wonderful Honeysuckle, and it brought back wonderful memories.  Although in Korea they use the Yuja fruit, which my Korean mother never made into tea, the recipe I found uses 2 lemons and 1 orange. After washing the fruit, I sliced it thinly, including the rinds. I then added 2 inches of ground ginger root, a tablespoon of turmeric, and a cup of raw honey, and mixed all the ingredients together in a bowl. The wonderful aroma of these ingredients together was just amazing.  I then stored the mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator for one month. The next morning, I placed a portion of the mixture into a cup of boiling water, and the wonderful flavors fused together.  This wonderful citrus tea is not only enjoyable, but it is also rich in vitamin C, ...

Warming our hearts. (Quick recipe)

The days are getting colder.- We're bundling up more.  We recently took a trip to our local library. -During our visit my four-year-old made quick bird feeders for the birds. I'm sure the birds will love this. - I really hope they do as much as she enjoyed preparing it for them.  Today, I made a quick sweet potato casserole.- I enjoyed it with a nice cup of coffee. Today, was definitely a good day.  Here's a quick recipe -  sweet potatoes (2) -Cinnamon -Pumpkin spice -brown sugar -Marshmallows  Boil sweet potatoes until tender. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mash sweet potatoes and mix with butter and sprinkle in some brown sugar. Place them in a baking dish. Add marshmallows and sprinkle with pumpkin spice, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Feeling better.

We spent some time playing market.-Fresh produce, milk, scoops of ice cream, pastries, flowers, and pottery. By the time our daughter is done with her shopping, she could probably use two carts instead of one. I enjoy the time that we play together. We're feeling better. This cold seems like a stubborn one. -I'm thankful that I am finally able to fall asleep without tossing and turning most of the night. I've been using our humidifier at night. - It has helped me with my breathing. Last weekend we couldn't resist the warm weather. We headed out to the park and surprisingly it was empty. We played for a little and headed home. I'm finally able to eat without the urge of vomiting, I'm so relieved. I've been enjoying tea (decaf) with milk. - Lately, I've enjoyed fruit and morning smoothies. I snack on carrots and I enjoy a nice turkey sandwich loaded with lettuce and tomatoes. I'm now in my 14th week of pregnancy. -Our daug...

Sick days.

Starting last Sunday... Our daughter came down with a cold. -Sneezing, coughing, stuffy nose, and a sore throat. -Of course, I managed to avoid getting sick all the way up until Tuesday. My body has definitely felt the impact of this cold. I've been feeling weak and I haven't had much energy. Between taking care of my daughter and caring for myself it's been a little hectic. I've been cooking soups. I have also made sure that we all stay well hydrated. My husband has been very helpful; he actually took a sick day to care for both my daughter and me. I was able to catch up on some sleep and feel somewhat refreshed. Our daughter wants a lot of cuddles and kisses. -Of course, she can have as many as she wants! I know one day she will grow out of this stage. So for now I cherish these moments that she wants to be close to both her father and me.  I've fallen behind on blogging. - I'm sure you all understand how it is to have sick days. I have man...

Cold day...

“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.”  ―  Edith Sitwell During the night it snowed. We woke in the morning, and our daughter was thrilled to see a snowy day. It's a cold  day , and we have been spending our time indoors.  -Creating, stamping, and rolling play dough, painting, baking banana bread, playing with cars, and enjoying some simple pasta.  I'm really enjoying our time inside on this cold day . {Play dough press on nails?} haha :) {Snuggles with little lamb} {Fun time with play cars} {preparing some simple pasta} {Art time} {Baking banana bread} {Milk and Banana bread}  It's been a good day.
