Virtual learning/working. Helpful tips, ideas, and inspiration.

As many of us are adapting to a new way of learning and working from home, it is normal to feel overwhelmed. However, some helpful tips can make this transition easier. I have been fortunate enough to have experience with virtual learning for my daughters, and I would like to share some insights that might help you too. Maintain a consistent schedule: Having a consistent routine can make a big difference in your day. Try to maintain a regular bedtime and wake-up time. It will help you to feel more organized and focused throughout the day. Getting enough sleep every night is also important for your overall well-being. Eat a healthy breakfast: A healthy breakfast can give you energy and help you start your day off right. Even if you're not a big breakfast person, try to have something small. You could have fruit, yogurt, oats, or whole-grain toast with your favorite spread. Start your day with a positive attitude: A positive attitude can make all the difference in your day...

10 things I want my daughters to know as they grow.

10 things I want my daughters to know as they grow 1. No matter what I will always love you Even when it might seem like I'm frustrated, sad, or just having a rough time.  I will always love you. 2. You're perfect just the way you are Always remember this. You are perfect just the way you are! 3.  Friends come and go I often tell myself that people are like seasons passing by.  You will realize that not all friends will stay.  As I grew up I realized that it wasn't about the number of friends, but the quality of friends. As time goes on you will learn this too. 4. Never feel rushed to heal Healing takes time. Never feel the need to rush the healing process. Take a deep breath, and gather your thoughts, but please never rush the healing process.  “Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us.” ―  David Richo   5.   Always ask questions Big, small, or just because! Always ask questions. Asking questions, and get...

Currently reading.-A list of books to help kids welcome Spring

I have updated this post to reflect the changes that have happened since I last wrote it. My daughters have grown older and are now reading chapter books, as well as exploring new music. However, I still cherish the memories of visiting the library with them and the excitement they would show when we checked out new books. Even though their interests have changed, they still get excited about reading new books.   I have compiled a list of the Spring-themed books we borrowed, along with a brief description of each book. Enjoy! 1. Abracadabra It's Spring This book is filled with beautiful, and colorful art to get you ready for Spring. With Spring just around the corner, there's magic in the air, and so much to explore on every page. 2. Hello Spring This book is filled with beautiful photographs that keep kids engaged. There are photos of nature, kids playing, insects, and much more. I thought it was a great book to help kids celebrate the arrival of Spr...

May we always smile.

I'm finding more time to rejoice in simple moments. So much has been going on lately. This month my husband and I will be celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary.- We're both very happy and amazed at how much things have changed over time. Our family has grown. -More laughter, hugs, kisses, and more time to make beautiful memories.  This month also marks one year of a close friend's passing.- It actually is still very hard. I'm finding that if I think of all the happy memories, and her positive outlook on life, it makes things easier. I think about her often. - She was beautiful inside and out. I've been staying busy.  We're currently going over our weather unit study. Our daughter seems to be enjoying her time learning about clouds, rainbows, wind, and all the other elements of weather. Our little sweet pea has been coloring and exploring books, and play dough. Her two top teeth just recentl...

When I first made these fun bottles our oldest daughter was a wee one. This week we decided to make a few more. I'm sure her little sister will enjoy them as much as she does. :) Our learning board. It includes the month, day, season, and weather. We start our morning using this board. I actually put this board together some time back.  We've been working on using scissors more. Our oldest started using them some time back. She's getting better and enjoying cutting pictures out on her own. This ...

Little hands. Making Green Goo

Our daughter absolutely loves getting hands-on and trying out new things. We recently made ourselves some green goo. - Boy was it messy and tons of fun. What you need to make your goo: 1/2 cup of water 1 cup of cornstarch Food coloring (color of your choice) 1 bowl It's pretty simple, add your cornstarch to your bowl and then slowly pour your water into the bowl. Add a few drops of food coloring- using your hands mix the mixture together.- This part is tons of fun.- Get into it! Our daughter allowed the mixture to go between her fingers. She squished it together and also rubbed it between her fingers. Of course, don't forget to ask your little one a few questions about the mixture. Questions asked: What will happen when the cornstarch is added to the water? Will it thicken up? Become solid? Is the mixture thick, gooey, or slippery? Have fun!

Learning...

Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself, and know that everything in life has purpose. There are no mistakes, and no coincidences, all events are blessings given to us to learn from.- Elisabeth Kubler-Ross I'm learning that no matter what always give your all. I'm learning that all things happen for a reason. I'm learning that some people will never understand the meaning of a sincere apology. I'm letting go and forgiving them regardless. I'm learning to appreciate each day. There's beauty in this life. I'm learning that breaks are good and sometimes it's best to take a step back. I'm learning to embrace the simple things in life. I've learned that you should always speak the truth. If you end up losing someone from speaking the truth, so be it! I've learned that no matter what you should never become a stepping stone for someone else. I've learned that there is so much happiness in life.  If y...
