A new home for our toad friend.

A few years ago we noticed there was a total of three toads in our window well. I think it was due to all the rain and flooding we had experienced. I wasn't sure how they had got in there, but we noticed a tiny tunnel on the side of the window well. They created a tiny entrance. We had two in one window well and one that stayed in another alone. My girls gave each toad a name. We had Adorbs, Sweetie, and Little One.  A new home for our toad friend Adorbs sitting in his new pond Adorbs emerging from his new home Sweetie sitting on a rock light with a cotton seed in her mouth About a month ago we were hit with flooding. One of our window wells completely collapsed.  We're currently working on repairing it. The rain created a slight mudslide which collapsed one and created a pile-up in the other. I'll just say the cleanup process was not fun, not one bit.  We were able to rescue one of the toads, Adorbs. We have not been able to find Sweetie. I really hope she found a way ou...

Summer.

Summer. Our days are longer. Morning comes and goes, but I still make time for that first cup of coffee. It's dry out. And each day I keep my fingers crossed that it will rain.- So far we've been lucky enough to have a few rainy days. My flowers are blooming, but need some extra love. I fertilize when it's cooler, and water when it is needed.  Water play, bike rides, and library trips are enjoyed.- I cherish all these simple moments. I'm waiting for days to become a little cooler. Ah, Summer, having you around has been okay, but honestly, I'm ready for cooler days to stick around. ❤

Peaceful moment.

This Peaceful moment... Took place in September 2013. It was a beautiful Autumn day. The air was cool. The sun was shining so bright. I paused for a moment and captured this photo.                                               What was your peaceful moment for this week? ***** Each Thursday, I'll be posting a photo taken during a peaceful moment.

Enjoying.

Enjoying- Nature walks, baked goodies, sunsets, rainy days, beautiful scenery, late night reading, movie night, gardening, little one exploring foods, cuddle time with both of my girls, and family game night. ☕  ☼  ☔ ♥

Summer fun. -Teddy Bear Picnic

This past weekend we took a little trip to the nature center. We packed a little picnic. -Sandwiches, fruit, and cold beverages to cool us down.  Our oldest daughter was thrilled that she was going on a teddy bear picnic. -This event included stories, crafts, a small hike, and a special guest. -Theodore Roosevelt.  The kids were given maps for their scavenger hunt. We set out to explore the outdoors and the children ran around.-Each child found an item on their map using the clues they were given. It was a fun adventure for all. After our hike, we found a cool place to unpack and enjoy our picnic. Ice cream was served and stories were read to the children.  As we headed back home, we had two sleepy little ones. This day was very enjoyable. I think we all took naps once we arrived home. Hooray for summer fun!  How are you enjoying your summer? I'd love to hear all about your summer adventures!
