Indoor Snow Play Activity

Indoor snow play Are you looking for an engaging activity to keep your child occupied? Look no further! This hands-on activity is perfect for both little ones and big kids alike. Today it's cold and snowy outside, making it the perfect day to play in the snow.  This activity was a hit with my daughter - it's fun and a bit messy! Just make sure to clear an area beforehand for this creative play. Here are the materials you'll need to get started: To make your own play snow, you will need the following materials: cornstarch, shaving cream (a cheap bottle will suffice), glitter (optional), felt piece (if you want to build a snowman with a scarf), buttons, beads (light blue and white work well for snowflakes) and Christmas cookie cutters. If you want to add arms to your snowman, you'll also need a tree branch. To make the play snow, mix cornstarch and shaving cream together until you achieve a soft and pliable consistency. You don't need to measure the exact amounts,...

Our days. Thanksgiving

Sweet Thanksgiving - November 28, 2013 Thanksgiving arrived, and hours of cooking began.  In the morning, we enjoyed a light breakfast: coffee with cinnamon rolls. Our Thanksgiving menu consisted of Turkey, homemade cranberry sauce, dressing, and gravy. potatoes, green beans, semi-homemade pumpkin pie, jalapeno cheddar cornbread (which by the way, is delicious-recipe from Barefoot Contessa), Sweet potato casserole, and a bottle of wine. We snacked on summer sausage, cheese, and crackers. It was a nice snack to hold us over until dinner. Once dinner was done cooking, we made our way to the table.  We sat and enjoyed ourselves and talked about what we were most thankful for. The sun began to set; it was the perfect ending to our sweet Thanksgiving day. Let the decorating begin ...November 28-29, 2013 I  thought we could hold off for a few more days, but... Our daughter insisted we start decorating our lovely gingerbre...

A gobble, gobble good time.

TP Roll Turkey Craft Thankful for place cards Using what was left over from our Tp roll turkey craft, I made a few cards. I'll place these at our table tomorrow, and we will all write down what we are thankful for. (I'll probably place our daughter's thankful card in her scrapbook.) I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with loved ones.  Pin/Save/Share For Later

Sail away. Water play with floating boats

Simple, fun, and hands-on play. Today I created these simple boats for floating. For this all you need- -Plastic cup (cut the top portion of the cup off) -Straws -Tape or decorative washi tape It's so easy to put together, and my daughter absolutely loved watching them float. We took a bin and filled it with water. I added one drop of blue food coloring, and there you go sail away and visit a few sea creatures. We had a blast! Enjoy~
