Our first weekend in October.

Hello October, You have been missed dearly.  We welcomed October with cool temps. It is absolutely gorgeous out with all the autumn colors.  We had a relaxing weekend. I took out a few autumn decor pieces and arranged them around our home.  I've completely become obsessed with anything that smells like fall. I normally have my wax burners on, but lately, I've been fighting a few candles early morning and late in the evening. Since the weather is cooler, I've been leaving the windows open. I normally open them in the afternoon. This past weekend the girls painted their little pumpkins. This is something we enjoy doing every year during the first weekend of October.  I baked over the weekend. Pumpkin cookies and banana bread. I really need to use up the rest of our bananas. After all the baking was done, I enjoyed a slice of banana bread with a nice cup of coffee.  We checked out a few books for the girls at t...

Summer fun. -Teddy Bear Picnic

This past weekend we took a little trip to the nature center. We packed a little picnic. -Sandwiches, fruit, and cold beverages to cool us down.  Our oldest daughter was thrilled that she was going on a teddy bear picnic. -This event included stories, crafts, a small hike, and a special guest. -Theodore Roosevelt.  The kids were given maps for their scavenger hunt. We set out to explore the outdoors and the children ran around.-Each child found an item on their map using the clues they were given. It was a fun adventure for all. After our hike, we found a cool place to unpack and enjoy our picnic. Ice cream was served and stories were read to the children.  As we headed back home, we had two sleepy little ones. This day was very enjoyable. I think we all took naps once we arrived home. Hooray for summer fun!  How are you enjoying your summer? I'd love to hear all about your summer adventures! Welcome new readers! So happy to have you ...

Tea please.

“Drinking tea with a pinch of imagination!”  ―Good reads It's been raining for the past two days. I absolutely love it and I do wish I owned a pair of rain boots. I'd probably go out and jump in muddy puddles.-Peppa Pig seems to be quoted a lot in our home by our three-year-old. I can't help but smile. This weekend we adventured out and did a bit of shopping. We took a short trip to one of my favorite stores, World Market. I always leave picking up more than expected.  While shopping, we came across a cute tea set for our daughter.  The set includes: -1 teapot with lid -4 cups -4 plates -1 creamer -1 sugar bowl -4 spoons -4 towels 12 color paints -1 paint brush and instructions for baking your tea set.  We arrived home and gathered around the table. Outside it was raining, and a window slightly opened. The air was fresh and we sat around watching our daughter paint her tea set. -We of course co...

Weekend love.

We enjoyed the sunny days before the wind, rain, and snow came for a visit. We're expected to have this weather until late Monday night. Saturday, we attended a family event at our local library. Inspector Magic was there with his animal friends. Kids and parents cheered and laughed along the way. It was a fun event for us all. During the show, I just had to capture this bonding moment between my daughter and my husband.  These days she's growing fast. We cherish every moment spent with her. My husband and daughter worked on my Mother's Day breakfast. I must say it was an overload of deliciousness. :) Pancakes with blueberry/orange topping, grilled ham steaks, bacon, and a side of egg. I enjoyed what I could before I became full. I really enjoyed this day. Each day my family makes me feel so loved. I'm very thankful to have them in my life. My side of mango. This pregnancy has had me indulging in fruit. I absolutely cannot get enoug...

Weekend. Smiles & Sunny days.

The weather here in Colorado is a bit wacky. -It snowed on Friday. -It was a mixture of rain/snow. I thought it was pretty, but honestly, I wanted to see more of the sun. Even though it was gloomy out on Friday, we did enjoy our time indoors.   The sun came out and it was absolutely beautiful.  -  Saturday came along and we enjoyed a simple morning. My husband made a delicious breakfast and we sat and enjoyed coffee while we talked about our plans for the day. Our daughter ran about. -Dancing, giggling, and chasing our pug around. It was a lovely morning. Saturday afternoon- We headed out to the Library. They had hedgehogs and Tenrecs . ( The  Tenrec  is a mammal of the family Tenrecidae, found on Madagascar and in parts of the African mainland .)  They discussed living environments, food, habits, and qualities of both the hedgehog and tenrecs. After, the kids were able to pet and see them up close. They even made a lit...
