Colorful Summer Flower: Recycled Paper Towel DIY

Looking to bring a little sunshine into your space without visiting the craft store? This whimsical summer flower decoration makes great use of what you already have—think beads, pom poms, a humble paper towel tube, and a splash of acrylic paint. Bonus: it’s the perfect way to reuse an old frame and welcome summer in style! What You’ll Need: 1 paper towel tube (emptied, of course!) Acrylic paint (I chose a deeper pink) Craft pom poms (yellow makes a great center!) Assorted beads (medium for the stem, smaller for embellishing the petals) Foam letters (for your summer message) A reused frame (square or any shape of your choice) Scissors Hot glue gun Creating your summer flower decoration Cut the Tube and Shape the Petals :  Start by cutting the paper towel tube into four evenly-sized sections. Each section will serve as a petal. You should be left with four rings. Next, flatten each ring, then gently reshape it to form soft ovals. These will mimic delicate flower...

Stay-at-Home Summer Fun: Activities for a Memorable Season

Today, I'm excited to share some creative and enjoyable activities that you can try in the comfort of your own home. 1. Backyard Camping Adventure:    Set up a tent in your backyard or indoors if you don’t have outdoor space.    Gather cozy blankets, pillows, and sleeping bags.    Roast marshmallows over a portable fire pit or stovetop.    Share stories under the starry sky. 2. DIY Water Balloon event and water stations:    Fill up colorful water balloons and have an epic water balloon event with family or friends.  Set up “bases” and create teams for added excitement. For those who do not want to throw balloons at each other, they can toss the balloons onto the bases to create a splash!   And don't forget to set out a sprinkler or two for furry friends too! Creating water stations is fun and refreshing, utilizing splash pads and sprinklers to keep everyone cool during the summer.  Don’t forget to capture the laughter...

DIY Colorful Summer Hanging Design

Hello all! This craft is easy and a lot of fun. I recently came across assorted fruit stickers at my local Dollar Tree, and I thought of using them for a summer craft. Today, we'll be making a colorful summer hanging design. I only had to buy the stickers for this, and I spent around three dollars on this project. I already had most of the materials on hand. Materials: - Assorted fruit stickers - Summer word wood decoration - Wood frame - Paint - Faux succulents - Paintbrush or sponge brush - Twine -  Hot glue - Scissors - Floral cutters Start by applying paint to your wooden frame. Apply around two coats of paint. Set your frame aside, and allow it to dry. Next, begin painting your wooden summer word decoration. Add gems or glitter. Then set it aside to dry. Once the frame and decorations are dry, use hot glue to attach your summer word decoration to the sign. After, take your assorted stickers, and begin to add them to your wood frame. You are now ready to cut your succulents. Us...

Our Summer Days.

"It was June, and the world smelled of roses. The sunshine was like powdered gold over the grassy hillside."- Maud Hart Lovelace I've taken a little break from blogging, and it has felt wonderful. I've been enjoying my summer with my children and my husband.  These days we are busy with projects, and just really having some summer fun! We recently took on a tie-dye project and had such a great time with that project. We visited our local craft store and picked up a few things to dye. We ended up with bags, pillowcases, shirts, and hats. I forgot just how messy this project can get!  Some days are hot, and other days we are fortunate to receive some rain, and I can honestly say that I cherish those rainy days. We have checked out a few E-books from our local library, and on those really hot days, we stay in and read.  Coffee dates are happening on the back porch. My husband and I really enjoy drinking coffee, and being able to drink our coffee together when the heat...
