DIY Lip Scrub

These scrubs are lip-smacking good! And they smell absolutely lovely. Perfect for these cold winter days. My lips need a little TLC.

**Recipes below**

Brown sugar vanilla lip scrub

2 tablespoons of brown sugar
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/4 teaspoon of olive oil (I used extra virgin olive oil)
1/8 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Mix all ingredients together, and place in the container. (I'm reusing my Bath and body works candle jars. They came with lids and what a perfect way to reuse these small jars

Delicious Coffee sugar/vanilla lip scrub

I used the same measurements from my brown sugar lip scrub.

2 tablespoons of coffee (I used whole bean, and our coffee grinder to grind up my coffee).
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/4 teaspoon of olive oil
1/8 teaspoon of vanilla extract

p.s. -You could always spice things up and add cinnamon to your scrub. I've made some in the past with cinnamon and other spices. They turned out just as lovely.

Enjoy~

    I bet you'd like it!

I had a question. What is the shelf life of these scrubs? Should they be stored in the refrigerator? Thanks for the great idea! My lips get so, so dry in the winter. I usually try to scrub the skin off with my toothbrush but it feels yucky :(

    1. Katie, thank you! Your so sweet. I'll check out your post!-I'm sure I'd like your natural bath salts as well. I keep my lip scrubs for about a week or two. I don't store my scrubs in the refrigerator, but that is honestly a great question. I'm sure you could store them in the refrigerator. I leave mine out, and use them to gently scrub my lips after I do my morning routine. =) I'm so happy you enjoyed my post, let me know how you like it! And thank you for stopping by.

    2. Thanks for answering. I'll definitely try it soon! You should create something for dry hands, too! That's like a huge problem for me in the winter ;). Keep up the awesome blogging!

  9. Everyone in my house seems to have horrible chapped lips right now. I was so surprised to see that I actually have ALL these ingredients (it seems like making your own health care products require buying a lot of specialty items that are expensive). I think I'll have to whip some up today. Thanks for sharing!
