Summer days- Exploring water {Outdoor play}

Outdoor water play/ Exploring with water.
My set up may not be the prettiest, but boy did we have fun.
I used tape and taped our watering system to our glass sliding door. If you have a 1 gallon water jug cut that in half, and use that as part of your water system.
I put this together using a few play eggs. We made sure to tilt them so that when water is poured into one it can easily make it's way to the next egg I used a few items from our kitchen. Using the other half of your jug to collect the water, or you can use a bucket. My daughter loved pouring water and watching it make it's way down.

This is very hands on, and did I mention fun for the little ones!

Weekend- love {Our adventures together}

Oh how lovely it is to spend time with the ones you love. :) Like many other's I'm sad to see the weekend come to an end so quickly. I am happy to say though that our weekend was absolutely wonderful.

Friday, my daughter and I enjoyed a play indoor picnic. She brought along her teddy bear, and elephant. We set out some play food, and enjoyed some tunes on the radio. We had carrots, apples, oh and of course cookies! :) We danced a little, and my daughter made sure I was eating by feeding me. (hehe) I love her! Of course after our play picnic, we enjoyed some real apples and some peanut butter., along with some pretzels.
This weekend we enjoyed some time out in the sun. We went to an event at the park, and our daughter enjoyed some time playing soccer with the soccer buddies group. Of course while out we stopped off at Dutch Bros. Coffee (they are just so friendly) I picked up a green tea lemonade. It was perfect for quenching my thirst after being out in this warm weather.
While shopping at Lowes, a lady at the register handed our daughter some flowers. They had fallen off of  plants they had displayed in the front of the store. (It was pretty windy out) They were in the process of bringing all the plants inside. The drive home our daughter would not let go of her flowers. Once we arrived home, I put her flowers in my little chick pot, and set them on the windowsill in the kitchen.
Saturday, we took out a few board games. We played Chutes and Ladders. (Our daughter is not yet old enough for this game, so my husband and I played a round of it. :)
We just recently bought a Dr. Seuss game from Target (It was on their clearance rack)
The game is pretty fun, and very interactive. You pull out three cards-1,2,3, once you pull your cards you do what it says. Example-"Crawl under the thing-a-ma-stick with the cake on top of your head". Such a fun game, for both parents and little ones!
We did some more rock painting. My husband decided to paint his rock with a bad hair day (saying it was him) I of course painted another love rock. Our daughter usually combines colors and her rocks are always so pretty. I put them out on the back porch near our miniature water fountain.
Today we did our usual Sunday pancake breakfast, and later we plan on going on a family hike.
How was your weekend? I'd love to hear about it! I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend with your love ones.
P.S. -I finally got around to making a Facebook page for my cards I would love if you stopped by!
I have not published my shop yet, I'm still working on a few things.

Summer reading-Ten Apples up On Top! by Dr. Seuss- learning Activity

We have been reading tons of books lately. Today my daughter chose Ten Apples Up On Top, by Dr. Seuss. After reading, I decided we could make a learning activity.
Materials needed:
Craft paper
Laminate sheet (I chose to laminate everything) you don't have to
-Magnet tape
-Craft paper

Draw a  few apples, and color. Once finished, draw your lion, tiger and dog. I used yellow craft paper, so figured I wouldn't color them. After doing this, add your paper with apples, and the one with each character to your laminate sheet.

Once you have laminated both sheets of paper, cut everything out. When you're all done with cutting each of them out, using some magnetic tape cut them into small squares.

Apply magnet tape to each apple, and character. We used my daughters Art easel, which has a magnetic chalk board. (My husband made it)

Now that you're done, have some fun with counting the apples!
My daughter loved this activity. (I did as well)

Happy Counting!

Summer fun- (Activities for little ones)

This week we have been very hands on with learning, and fun activities!

Outdoor water/bubble play- My daughter always has such a fun time playing with water, and bubbles. We took a few items out of the kitchen, and experimented with different ways to blow bubbles. We splashed, dumped, and strained the water, it was so much fun.
Yesterday we decorated a rock, and made a little Rock pet. We even made a little bed for it. :) This is a fun activity for little ones. Very hands on.
Tissue paper
Craft eyes
pom pom

We did a fun and simple counting activity.
We made some cute bracelets. My daughter decorated them with stickers, jewels, washi tape and  colored them. I just punched out a hole, and added some yarn.

Our trip down to the Library...

This morning we headed out to the library. During the summer our library has special events and crafts for the kids to do. Today they were having -Discovering African Folktales with Denise Gard, and her dog (Border Collie) Sienna. The kids participated as she told stories and her dog Sienna did tricks. The kids loved it. My daughter absolutely loved the dog. Denise made her dog do tricks, jumping through hoops, and shaking hands. What a wonderful morning with my little sweet one.

A big thank you goes out to Jayne over at handmadecuties. Recently I was told I was her top commenter. I am beyond excited, and can't wait to receive one of her beautiful gifts from her Etsy shop BeadCrumbs-Imaginatively Adorable Charms, Jewelry and Accessories .  So again, thank you Jayne!

We had such a lovely weekend. We played, danced, laughed, made cute crafts, and just enjoyed being a family.
This weekend my husband and daughter enjoyed some craft time together. They made paper plate fishes. I absolutely love watching them spend quality time together. Our little one really seemed to have enjoyed this time with her daddy.
Saturday morning, a little after breakfast my daughter and I enjoyed some time out on the back porch. She colored for a little, and I enjoyed my cup of coffee. It was so nice out. We had a nice breeze, and the birds were chirping. It was wonderful.
We took out some of my daughters counting foam blocks, and attempted to sort them by color. She rather mix them all up, and toss them around.  :) We eventually sorted them all out as we counted them.
This weekend we enjoyed some time reading some of our daughters favorite books. We really enjoy reading to her. She loves snuggling up, and grabbing a book or two. As a mother this is one of my favorite times spent with my daughter.
We took an old Gerber snack can, and turned it into a play drum. Our daughter had so much fun making music, and dancing around. We always have such lovely weekends together. We ended the weekend with grilling, and some wine for my husband and I. We sat out last night and enjoyed the nice cool breeze, while we talked about the future. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend spent with the ones you love.

Hope you enjoyed your walk with us.

Hello there butterfly :) Coffee filter craft

After we made our butterflies, I used some wire and created a large ring.
I attached each butterfly to the ring using some plastic craft string.
We had so much fun creating and painting our butterflies.

Weekend love~

My daughter always serves up the best cup of tea. :)
This weekend we enjoyed some tea time. She even baked some delicious cookies.
This weekend we enjoyed the rain- We sat out and enjoyed the rain, along with a nice gentle breeze.
I love rainy days! (And I'm sure my flowerbed does too) :)

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. :)
