Winter. Around here

“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, "Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”
― Lewis CarrollAlice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

Winter - snow, mittens, warm hats, scarves, and warm drinks to keep us all warm. We enjoy our time out. Playing in the snow and creating ice igloos and sweet baby snow angels. The snow falls. It's all so beautiful. We enjoy these moments.

Parks are covered with icy slides and cold swings. Our oldest daughter enjoys her time at the park. She runs, jumps, and climbs. While she plays with Dad, I carry little one around in her carrier. I take as many photos as I possibly can. I think there is just something about winter that is so beautiful.

At home, thicker blankets are out. Snowsuits, wet jackets, and snow boots stay out to dry. Hot soups are prepared, and we enjoy some warm drinks. Our daughter has a favorite.- Warm vanilla milk. We warm up a little milk and add in a drop of vanilla extract. She loves this.  I enjoy watching her sip up her warm milk. We discuss our day and what we all enjoyed most about it. I enjoyed our time spent together. Having fun and capturing these beautiful moments. Winter, we enjoy having you around.

  3. As always love your pictures. It's been cold here for months and for whatever reason I'm really not into winter this year. I'm ready for those warmer afternoons outside and longer days. They'll be here before we know it.

Easy Floral Decoupage Idea for Faux Pumpkin Display

Hi everyone! I'm excited to share a simple and easy floral pumpkin design you can create quickly. Today, we will make a faux floral pumpkin display using decoupage and a few additional designs. I'm reusing a foam pumpkin that I bought at Dollar Tree. If you’re ready, let’s begin creating an easy floral decoupage faux pumpkin display! Quick video tutorial **Materials needed:** - Acrylic paint - Paintbrush - Floral napkin - Faux pearls - Faux flowers - Craft knife - Scissors - Mod Podge Carefully remove the top of your pumpkin. I used my craft knife to go around the top section, creating a hole at the top. Using a paintbrush, apply acrylic paint to the pumpkin. I chose to paint mine black. Next, use scissors to cut out a few flowers from your napkin. Make sure to remove the second layer of the napkin before cutting out the designs.   Once you have your floral designs cut out, use a paintbrush to apply Mod Podge to the pumpkin. While the Mod Podge is wet, add the floral napkin c...

If you love finding new DIY ideas and learning from other bloggers, you’re in the perfect spot! Hi everyone! How was your week? This week, we were blessed with more rain, and I am so thankful. It's been a hot summer with wildfires and droughts, so it's nice to have a few days to cool down a bit. Below, I've shared two photos that I posted on my Instagram story. The first one shows one of our lovely hummingbirds relaxing on the swing near the feeder. I love watching them from our dining room window. In the second photo, we had another visitor at the feeder, and the sunlight shining through the window that evening was absolutely beautiful. I'd say this week was a nice one. Congratulations  to ou...

DIY Floral Wooden Jack‑O’‑Lanterns (Easy Fall Decor)

I’ve been having so much fun creating fall projects this year. These floral wooden jack‑o’‑lanterns  started as simple wooden pumpkins, but with a few pretty transfers and some soft paint colors, they turned into the sweetest little fall accents. I love how the florals give them a cozy, cottage‑style feel while still keeping that classic jack‑o’‑lantern charm. They’re quick to make, easy to customize, and such a cute way to add a warm autumn touch to your home. Watch the video tutorial Materials Wooden pumpkin cutouts Floral transfers Acrylic paint (your chosen colors) Gold acrylic paint Green acrylic paint Mini dowels Hot glue gun + glue sticks Small wooden stands Brown acrylic paint Paintbrushes   Add the floral transfers I started by placing my floral transfers onto each wooden pumpkin, just arranging them until they felt right. Once they were where I wanted them, I used a little rubbing tool to press them down and transfer the design onto the wood. Take your time with this...
