Lately. September days...

Lately,
The cooler weather has arrived. Today our high was in the '60s.  I've made two recent trips to pick up my Pumpkin spice latte. And if you haven't tried the pumpkin scone, you seriously have to as soon as possible. The leaves are slowly changing color and we're finding more scattered over our lawn. I love this change.

I'm currently burning my apple spice candle. It smells like I just baked an apple pie. Speaking of apples, I recently made some bloomin' apples. They were so delicious. The girls were asleep and my husband and I enjoyed this time together. We sat and enjoyed every last bite.

Our oldest daughter is doing very well in school.  She loves her schedule and the fact that she is home with me. Her teacher recently moved her up to first-grade math. She tested out of kindergarten math and now we are working with her teacher on other subjects. She's ahead for kindergarten and her teacher has noticed.
I love being her learning coach. We enjoy the hands-on experiments in science and she loves creating art. She recently explored bubbles. We've done this many times in the past, but this time her experiment was being graded.

Our littlest one is turning two. She actually turns two on Friday.  I've been planning, creating, and enjoying this time. When she turned one I made a baby carrot cake. I used a recipe out of my baby cookbook.  I topped it with yogurt and she really enjoyed that. This year,  I'll bake some funfetti cupcakes and top them with strawberry icing. She'll probably just have one, or maybe even half of one. I just want her to enjoy herself and feel all the love around her. Gosh, seriously where does the time go?

We're still visiting the library. We go often to check out books and attend some of the events for children. Our favorite librarian recently left and we will miss her. She met our oldest when she was just 8 months old. She was such a lovely person. Both girls absolutely loved her storytelling. But I'm happy for her.  She's starting a new journey with homeschooling her daughter and being a stay-at-home mom. I'm sure she's going to love it!

So here we are.
September so far has been good for us.
There's so much to be thankful for and each day is truly a blessing.
Busy days, lots of laughter and so much love to share.

Lately...
life has treated us well.

A while ago, I purchased some pin cushions from my local Dollar Tree and stored them away, completely forgetting about them. Hi there, I hope everything is going well for you. Today, I want to share with you a simple upcycling holiday craft idea. I used a cork lid from a salt bottle that I had kept, and a pink bowl I had bought a few months ago for just 50 cents. You can easily put this project together in less than 15 minutes, and it looks absolutely beautiful once it's displayed. So, if you're ready, let's start creating! Here's what you'll need One bowl (any size works, I am using a smaller bowl for my design) Wintery faux foliage Cork (I am reusing a cork from a salt bottle) Hot glue Floral cutters (to cut foliage to size) Pinecones (optional) Attaching the cork to the bowl To begin, turn your bowl...
