Give me glitter and sparkles.-3 simple and fun crafts

1. Upcycled Decorative Jar

Materials Needed:

- Mod Podge

- Sponge brush or paintbrush

- Glitter

- Wooden letters

- Painter's tape

- LED battery-operated candle

- Adhesive (I used Aleene's Original, The Ultimate Multi-Surface Adhesive)

- Silk flower (optional)

Instructions:

1. Start with a clean jar; I used an old candle jar for this project.

2. Take your wooden letters and adhesive, and glue the letters to the jar. Allow this to dry for about 5 minutes.

3. Use painter's tape to cover the top and bottom sections of the jar. Make sure to do this before applying the Mod Podge.

4. Once the areas are taped off, apply Mod Podge using a sponge brush or paintbrush.

5. After applying the Mod Podge, sprinkle glitter over the areas where you applied it to ensure full coverage.

6. Let the jar dry for 10-15 minutes.

7. Once dry, gently remove the tape.

8. Choose a spot to display your newly designed jar and enjoy!

Feel free to add a silk flower if you'd like to enhance the decoration!

2. Sparkly jewel candle jar

Materials Needed:

- Candle jar (or any jar will do)

- Adhesive (I used the same type I mentioned in my previous craft)

- Jewels (I picked up a box at my local craft store)

- Battery-operated candle (or you can use a real candle)

Instructions:

1. Start with a clean candle jar or any jar you have on hand.

2. Apply some adhesive to the jar and begin adding your jewels. I recommend working in sections for better coverage.

3. Allow the adhesive to dry completely, and then your project is finished!

4. Choose a space to place your decorated jar and enjoy the ambiance!

3.  Cardboard sparkly jewel bookmark hearts

Materials Needed:

- Cardboard heart shape cut-outs

- Large popsicle stick

- Jewels

- Adhesive (you can use the same adhesive from the previous two crafts)

Instructions:

1. Trace heart shapes onto an old cardboard box you have around your house.

2. This craft is quite simple: glue the jewels all over the cardboard hearts.

3. Once the jewels are attached, glue the heart cut-out to the popsicle stick.

4. Allow everything to dry. Optionally, you can also paint the popsicle stick; I chose not to, but it’s a great option if you prefer a bit of color.

5. Once everything is dry, find a book you’re currently reading and place it in. It looks beautiful!

Additionally, if you make several cardboard hearts, you can use them as decorative pieces around your home. Enjoy your crafting!

I hope you have enjoyed these three simple and fun crafts! If you have any questions, please feel free to comment or contact me via my email listed under the contact tab. Enjoy and keep being creative!

DIY Tea Tin Planter for Sweet Mint

Today’s tiny DIY win: turning an empty lemon‑ginger tea tin into a planter for a sweet mint plant that needed some love. I cleaned the tin, added drainage, and nestled the mint inside. It instantly brightened up the space — the colors on the tin and the fresh green leaves look so sweet together. I love giving everyday items a second life, especially when they end up this cute. Quick Video Tutorial  I began this little project by cleaning out an empty metal tea container that I had saved. It still held a soft scent of lemon and ginger, and I loved the idea of giving it a second life. Once I washed and dried it, the container felt ready for a new purpose.   Next, I used a finishing nail and a hammer to create a few drainage holes in the bottom of the tin. Since metal containers don’t have natural drainage, this step helps keep the roots healthy and prevents the soil from becoming soggy. Having prepared the container, I carefully removed the sweet mint from its original pot. The ...
