Getting creative! Learning about shapes :)

Today we are learning about shapes in a fun creative way!
I love Pinterest, and I'm always on there looking for fun new creative ways to teach my daughter. A while back I came across a Pinterest pin on using popsicle sticks to create shapes.

I loved the idea of using popsicle sticks. So today since my daughter is feeling a little better I decided to take some popsicle sticks and create just a few shapes. Right now we are learning about shapes, and numbers. This really helped teach her in a fun creative way. I only had a few popsicle sticks available and they were the smaller ones. I’m thinking next time I go to the craft store I will  probably pick up some thicker popsicle sticks.

  1. That is a great idea! In my Kindergarten class, I often hear kids have a confusion between identifying rectangle and triangle. Those are the only 2 names that have the word -angle, so it's difficult. They actually do better with the hard name hexagon. ;)

Materials One plastic organizer (I'm using the one with three compartments) Dollar Tree wallpaper sheet Wire Artificial succulents Hot glue Pencil or pen for tracing floral cutters scissors Tracing onto the wallpaper Begin by placing your plastic organizer on top of the wallpaper sheet. Transforming a Chocolate Box into a Beautiful Hanging Heart

Chocolates always have a way of making things better, don't they? I'll provide you with a list of materials needed and guide you through the simple step-by-step process. So, get ready to give your leftover chocolate box a new lease on life! Materials One heart-shaped chocolate box Acrylic paint One sanding block Fabric heart garland (I purchased my fabric heart garland at Dollar Tree) Paintbrush Faux flowers and greenery Hot glue Twine or rope Scissors Floral cutters Prepping the box I used a heart-shaped box for my project, which had raised letters and hearts design. To prepare the box, I used a sanding block to sand down the lettering and design. It was easier than tearing the packaging paper off.  Applying Acrylic paint After sanding down the box and cleaning my workspace, I applied acrylic paint with a paintbrush. ...
