Our week {A few things I've learned, and I'm still learning}

I've learned, and I am still learning:

  • Everything happens for a reason, and things soon fall into place
  • People can be rude, and sometimes emotionless; you have the option of letting those people go
  • There's so much beauty around us all. Let us learn to appreciate it
  • I sometimes worry myself like there's no tomorrow, I'm learning that worrying that much does absolutely nothing. Other than stress you out!
  • That it's okay to set some time out for me, we all need some time to clear our minds from our busy/daily schedules.
  • That I have so much love in my heart, and if I could I would scatter my love everywhere!
  • No matter how busy I get, I still have time for my loves. They mean the world to me.

Our week

This week the weather has shifted.  This week  I took some time preparing a few things around our home for the arrival of Thanksgiving. I haven't been in much of an organizing mood. -Ever since last weekend; we spent so much of our time organizing, and getting rid of unnecessary clutter.

This week my daughter and I worked on a few crafts, but there was one in particular that had my daughter fascinated, and that was our silly robot. Such a fun, and creative craft. This week we also danced around, pretended we were elephants and learned about the human heart. Our schedule during the week keeps us busy and keeps our little ones exploring.

The evenings are spent in the kitchen preparing dinner. We write down all of our meals for each upcoming week-this way everything is balanced or at least seems to be. This week my husband made us some salsa to go along with our tacos, and of course, our little one said it was too spicy.

Lately, I haven't really been much of a coffee drinker. I've been enjoying green tea, with a bit of honey. I did bake over the week; I made chocolate chip cookies. -With extra chocolate. =) I specifically made them for my husband to take to work for the next week or so. I'm thankful for this week, and the time I was able to spend with my family. How did your week go? I hope you all had a wonderful week.

Thank you to all my lovely readers. Those of you who visit, and leave such kind words, I appreciate you. Welcome new readers! I'm so happy to have you come along on this journey with me.

Bonus: it’s the perfect way to reuse an old frame and welcome summer in style! What You’ll Need: 1 paper towel tube (emptied, of course!) Acrylic paint (I chose a deeper pink) Craft pom poms (yellow makes a great center!) Each section will serve as a petal. You should be left with four rings. Next, flatten each ring, then gently reshape it to form soft ovals. These will mimic delicate flower...

DIY Upcycled Peanut Jars

Transform your old peanut jars into stylish, functional containers with these creative and easy DIY upcycling ideas. Learn how to repurpose your peanut jars and give them a new life with practical and decorative uses.   Materials needed: Two  empty peanut containers Two sheets of crafting paper tape scissors Start  by removing the old label on your peanut containers  Next, you'll want to wrap your crafting paper around your container.  If you find that it does not completely cover the container, cut out a single strip to use later. I found it easier to wrap my containers with my craft paper and make the marks I needed before cutting them to size.  Tape your crafting paper into the container and then make necessary cuts to the paper using your scissors. Once this is done, take the last piece of crafting paper that you cut out earlier and place it over the spot that you were unable to cover. Take some clear tape and apply it to the contai...

DIY Tea Tin Planter for Sweet Mint

Today’s tiny DIY win: turning an empty lemon‑ginger tea tin into a planter for a sweet mint plant that needed some love. I cleaned the tin, added drainage, and nestled the mint inside. It instantly brightened up the space — the colors on the tin and the fresh green leaves look so sweet together. I love giving everyday items a second life, especially when they end up this cute. Quick Video Tutorial  I began this little project by cleaning out an empty metal tea container that I had saved. It still held a soft scent of lemon and ginger, and I loved the idea of giving it a second life. Once I washed and dried it, the container felt ready for a new purpose.   Next, I used a finishing nail and a hammer to create a few drainage holes in the bottom of the tin. Since metal containers don’t have natural drainage, this step helps keep the roots healthy and prevents the soil from becoming soggy. Having prepared the container, I carefully removed the sweet mint from its original pot. The ...
