Quiet [peaceful days]

This particular day, it was quiet. The weather was cool and the sun hid behind the clouds. This day was great for sitting out at the park. It was a very quiet, peaceful outing. We made our way out to the park. -Kids were playing soccer, volleyball and adults were grilling under the gazebo.

We sat under a tree and set our blanket up. Our daughter ran in circles, exploring and waving at other children. -Eventually she ran around and played tag with this little boy off in the distance. My husband joined them.  They built castles and forts in the sand.
I stayed back. Relaxing and catching up on some reading. -It was nice. Eventually I took my sandals off. What a relief, for my pregnant feet. Surprisingly they aren't so swollen, just really uncomfortable these days.

After reading, I had time to reflect on a few things. Clearing my thoughts and taking in the fresh air.-It was so peaceful. Days like this come and go. When we are able to enjoy days like this particular day, we cherish them. On this day, it was quiet and peaceful.  – I enjoyed my time with my family. Reflecting on life and excited for new beginnings.

Welcome new readers and followers. I'm so happy to have you all here. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend with your love ones. :)

Live your life to the fullest.
Be a shoulder to lean on.
Learn to love and experience life.
Tell your children daily- how much you love them .-They grow so fast.
In life there will be disappointments and let downs. But remember to give it all you got.
Remember that you are unique and one of a kind.
Remember that hugs feel good, so why not hug a little longer? A hug changes everything.

How much you are truly loved. -Yes you! You're loved by so many.
When you start to doubt things, remember positive thoughts. You'll be amazed at how quickly your thoughts can change.
Remember to smile, it looks good on you!
Take trips- long trips, short trips. Just enjoy those moments on the road.
Remember that it's hard to change some people.- Sometimes it's best to love some people from a distance. It doesn't mean give up on them but, give them a little space.
Some things can be challenging but when you have the right support system, you can get through it all.
Struggles make us stronger.
Laughter lifts us up.
And love moves us.

Remember to smile today. :)

July [Life lately]

We spend our time together....
I'm happy when we're all together, enjoying simple conversation and laughter.
It's summer-I'm pregnant, hot and sore these days. -Still trying to stay positive through it all.
I'm enjoying, sweet decaf tea, blended smoothies and iced decaf coffee. I'm content and it cools me down.
We're currently going over a series of preschool workbooks. - But still... building blocks, coloring and other hands-on activities is what our daughter enjoys the most.
These days, I'm enjoying my exercise ball. Sitting, relaxing, or just swaying my hips side to side.- Brings so much relief to this discomfort I am now experiencing.
We got a glimpse of our little one a few days back. She was moving and grooving all over the place.

It's been raining these past few days.- I'm talking pouring, flooding, kind of rain.-So of course we splashed in puddles and danced in the rain.-It was absolutely wonderful.
Often times, I leave the windows open and the fresh cool breeze fills our home.
I'm enjoying my vegetables in the garden. And my flowerbed is blooming with a variety of colorful flowers. -When sitting out I catch a glimpse of the bumble bees visiting each one. They quietly buzz by...ah, nature.

I've baked a few light desserts. A cookie crumble with sautéed cinnamon apples, topped with ice cream and a drizzle of caramel.- It's okay if you're drooling. It was a delicious treat. One where you just kick your feet up and enjoy in peace.
The sun has finally made an appearance and the heat is back. It's actually nice to see the sun again and not just gray clouds filling the sky.

We've attended picnics and playgroups. - I'm trying to stay as active and social as possible despite any discomfort I am experiencing. It's hard to believe that I'm going onto 32 weeks next week. Seriously where does the time go? I'm researching- breathing techniques, movements and more. I'll have my first appointment with my Doula soon.

I've missed you all! I'm still blogging, but took a break during the giveaway on my blog. [And yes the winner has been announced. A big thank you to all that entered.] How's life treating you all? How's the weather where you live?
Hello new readers. It's so nice to have you here. And also thank you to those who stop by and leave such lovely comments. I appreciate you all. :)

Spa day courtesy of: Two good scents (Review & giveaway)

(Review and giveaway)- Two Good Scents
Sugar Scrubs

These days I'm feeling very pregnant. So when the chance comes along to pamper myself, I'm definitely up for it. We can all use some pampering from time to time. :)
I was contacted by Nancy over at She kindly  offered to send me some of her products in exchange for a fair review of the items I get. No other compensation was provided for this review.
I received my products in a padded envelope stuffed with decorative tissue paper.  The containers were well padded to protect the plastic containers.  After opening up the package I took out the sealed jars which had a professional look along with cute labels.  I opened each of them, one at a time.

My initial reactions were to the scents themselves of the scrubs.  My personal favorite was the blossom scrub which was reminiscent of a nice clean soft flowery soap bar.  The others I received were coffee mocha (which brought forth a note of tiramisu) and the pineapple (think pineapple flavored lifesavers for this scent, this was the most intense of the three).

My family and I each tried a different one of them for our test run.  The coffee mocha had a rich creamy texture to accompany the gritty feel of the exfoliating sugar as it was lathered in, leaving the skin with a moisturized feeling.  The blossom scrub leaves a pleasant oiled effect.

I tried asking my daughter how she liked the pineapple one, but at three she isn't much for giving a good description.  I had observed a similar quality to the blossom in my hands as I rubbed it on her feet. I really enjoyed the products sent to me. It left my skin feeling soft, refreshed and beautiful. I would love to see a sampler pack containing a small portion of each scent as a possible future offering for sale on her website.

It's giveaway time! For this giveaway Nancy is offering one lucky winner the chance to win three 8 oz jars from her website. You will then visit her website and choose which scents you would like. She will then ship your items directly to you, free of charge. All you have to do is leave a comment below. I would love if you become a reader to my blog to stay up to date with blog postings and future giveaways.

For an extra entry I ask that you follow my blog using Google friend Connect and go over and like Two Good Scents facebook page. Just leave in your comment that you have done so. This way I can give you an extra entry. I will randomly choose a winner. This giveaway will be available until Thursday July 17, 2014 and will close at 10:00 p.m MST. The winner will be announced  here on my blog within this post. Check back on Saturday July 19,2014. Good luck to all!!

And the winner is:

Kathy Dalton who commented: I would absolutely love these scrubs. Id love the sweet pineapple. Congratulations Kathy Dalton!  Kathy, you will need to contact Nancy over at Twogoodscents for your gifts. Through Facebook or on her Store site under contact. You will absolutely love your new scrubs! They smell great. :)

How the winner was determined:

I wrote out each name and gave those who followed my GFC and Twogoodscents on Facebook an extra entry. After writing out each person's name I folded each paper up and cut them out. Then placed them into a container and tossed it around. Then we randomly chose a paper with a name. Thank you all for entering this giveaway! Stay tuned for more giveaways on my blog!! Also welcome new readers. It's a pleasure to have you here. :)

Life lately. -Treating us well.

“What day is it?"
It's today," squeaked Piglet.
My favorite day," said Pooh.”
― A.A. Milne

Lately, life has treated us well. On the Fourth of July, we made our way to the park. There was live music, food and beautiful fireworks filled the night sky.

Lately, the sunsets have been beautiful. With this heat, I normally make my way outdoors in the evening.
-Watering, pruning and happy to see new plant/vegetable growth in my garden.

I haven't baked much lately. My sweet tooth comes and goes. Recently my husband made some fresh salsa. He added in- cilantro, habanero, jalapeno, lime and a few other spices. It's a quick snack. A snack that goes well with a glass of sweet tea.

Lately, I've been kicking my feet up and relaxing more. My pregnant body is constantly changing. I'm no longer able to put off going to the restroom while we are out and about. This week I'm entering 30 weeks. Goodness where does the time go?!

We had our last interview with a doula this weekend. The interview went very well. This time around we are more knowledgeable and want a completely different birth experience. One that is more natural. I want to be able to move around, sit up and if  I choose to stand in a hot shower.- I want  to be able to make those choices. I'm happy to say we have chosen a doula that will assist us in the hospital.  If you're not sure what a doula and would like to know more click this link :)

I hope life is treating you all well.
Hello and welcome new readers and followers. :)

Library fun.

“Come with me,' Mom says.
To the library.
Books and summertime go together."
― Lisa SchroederI Heart You, You Haunt Me

And crafts of course! We've been spending our time at our local library. It's been filled with reading, crafts and lots of fun presentations. We recently met a miniature horse. The children gathered around giggling and smiling, -ready to meet this miniature cutie!

They set up stations around the library. Some were combing, petting and feeding the horse. Other's taking turns with the lasso station.  They even set up an area for photos. It was a wonderful experience for all.

Inside, we worked on crafts. Glue, paper, jewels, markers- it sure was fun.
Do you visit your local library often?  What events do they offer at yours? :)
