Slowing down..

“Sometimes our stop-doing list needs to be bigger than our to-do list.” ― Patti Digh

It has been a bit hectic around here.
I think we're in need of rest.
Our days seem long and hectic.
Maybe soon...
things will start slowing down.

This week:

-We continued our lessons. Reading lessons are slowing down. - Right now our oldest daughter is sick. Just a common cold. But she is definitely in need of rest. -Warm baths, vapor rub, and warm drinks. - This seems to be helping out some.

I've washed and sanitized things around our house.  - So far little one, daddy and I are cold-free. I'm sure it will sneak up on me when I least expect it.

We're still working on lessons and this week she's learning about ladybugs. Once she is feeling better, we'll head out and go on an outdoor adventure.

Our littlest one has been fussy. - Maybe she's teething?! I haven't seen or felt any teeth that may be coming in. She's content when she is being held or wrapped in her carrier. I swear if I could put her in the wrap during showers...you betcha I would! - Especially if that meant longer and quieter showers.
I've learned to work around that. I shower early morning when everyone is sleeping. - This way there are no interruptions and I can have some quiet time.

Even with a lack of sleep, I managed to meet with a group of ladies for coffee and a chat.  It was nice and definitely needed.

Our nights are long. We're normally in bed by 11:30-12.  - This of course is when we are off schedule.
So I think this weekend, I'll try and catch up on some sleep.  Maybe a nap for this mama...I think so!
And we will hope that things start slowing down.

How has your week been? I'd love to know! :)

  1. Oh, Stephanie. I hope things do slow down for you soon and that everyone is feeling better soon. It's so hard when life takes a turn like this. I am sure it will blow over soon and things will settle again. We're having a busy week too, but it's that time of year and I think it's only going to get worse for a few weeks. That's okay, it's good to be busy. But it does make you thankful for the quiet moments! Hope you have a good weekend.

  4. The weekend is going so much better then the week. Poor baby! I used to shower with a clear curtain that way T could see me and I'd put him in his little bouncer that way he'd be entertained.

Are those flowers your oldest picked from outside? that is really sweet!

Easy Faux Floral Centerpiece

There’s something so satisfying about taking a simple little Dollar Tree crate — especially one that’s already lived a previous craft life — and turning it into something elegant and fresh. This easy faux floral centerpiece came together in just a few minutes, and it’s the perfect project if you want a pretty pop of color without spending much at all. Quick video tutorial coming soon Materials I Used One Dollar Tree wooden crate (mine was already painted black from an older craft) Twine Faux florals in light and dark pinks One foam block (pre‑cut or trimmed to fit) One artificial topiary bunny (optional, but adorable) Adhesive of your choice Floral cutters How to Make It Step 1: Wrap the Twine Start by wrapping twine around the top section of your crate. I like to keep it simple — just a few neat wraps to add a little rustic texture against the black paint. Tie it off in the back or secure the ends with a dab of adhesive so everything stays in place. Step 2: Add the Foam and Florals Pl...
