Slowing down..

“Sometimes our stop-doing list needs to be bigger than our to-do list.” ― Patti Digh

It has been a bit hectic around here.
I think we're in need of rest.
Our days seem long and hectic.
Maybe soon...
things will start slowing down.

This week:

-We continued our lessons. Reading lessons are slowing down. - Right now our oldest daughter is sick. Just a common cold. But she is definitely in need of rest. -Warm baths, vapor rub, and warm drinks. - This seems to be helping out some.

I've washed and sanitized things around our house.  - So far little one, daddy and I are cold-free. I'm sure it will sneak up on me when I least expect it.

We're still working on lessons and this week she's learning about ladybugs. Once she is feeling better, we'll head out and go on an outdoor adventure.

Our littlest one has been fussy. - Maybe she's teething?! I haven't seen or felt any teeth that may be coming in. She's content when she is being held or wrapped in her carrier. I swear if I could put her in the wrap during showers...you betcha I would! - Especially if that meant longer and quieter showers.
I've learned to work around that. I shower early morning when everyone is sleeping. - This way there are no interruptions and I can have some quiet time.

Even with a lack of sleep, I managed to meet with a group of ladies for coffee and a chat.  It was nice and definitely needed.

Our nights are long. We're normally in bed by 11:30-12.  - This of course is when we are off schedule.
So I think this weekend, I'll try and catch up on some sleep.  Maybe a nap for this mama...I think so!
And we will hope that things start slowing down.

How has your week been? I'd love to know! :)

  1. Oh, Stephanie. I hope things do slow down for you soon and that everyone is feeling better soon. It's so hard when life takes a turn like this. I am sure it will blow over soon and things will settle again. We're having a busy week too, but it's that time of year and I think it's only going to get worse for a few weeks. That's okay, it's good to be busy. But it does make you thankful for the quiet moments! Hope you have a good weekend.

  4. The weekend is going so much better then the week. Poor baby! I used to shower with a clear curtain that way T could see me and I'd put him in his little bouncer that way he'd be entertained.

Are those flowers your oldest picked from outside? that is really sweet!

Delicious Fall Recipe: Roasting Pumpkin Seeds

🎃 Delicious Fall Recipe: Roasting Pumpkin Seeds If you're anything like me, your favorite season is Autumn, and I get excited when making fall snacks and new recipes. My family loves it when I roast pumpkin seeds for a quick and easy snack. Roasting pumpkin seeds is one of those simple pleasures that turns seasonal scraps into a crunchy, crave-worthy snack. Here's my step-by-step method—with measurements—to help you make the perfect batch. Step 1: Scoop Out the Seeds Begin by carefully using a sharp kitchen knife to slice off the top portion of your pumpkin, making your cut around the stem to create a wide enough opening for easy access to the interior.  Once the top is removed, reach inside the pumpkin to extract the seeds. You can do this with your bare hands, but I prefer wearing a latex glove to keep things clean and comfortable—though this step is entirely optional.  Alternatively, you can use tools like an ice cream scooper, a sturdy fork, or a specialized pumpkin seed...

Mini Halloween Chalkboards

Hi everyone! I'm excited to bring you this fun craft. This craft is perfect for Halloween, and you could definitely get your children to help and create as well. I purchased a pack of these mini chalkboards at my local Target in the Dollar spot.  Supplies Assorted craft gems Paint- Black, white, and orange Glitter glue, or glitter Felt Halloween stickers Wood word tiles--I purchased a pack at Walmart The ribbon is optional- I decided not to use it, but feel free to use it if you would like Paintbrush Hot glue Start by taking your frames and painting them black. For this craft, you will paint all three of your mini chalkboards black.  Working with the first design, use hot glue and add on your wood tile letters.  Next, take one felt sticker and add it to your mini chalkboard. I decided to use a ghost felt sticker on my first design. After, take your white paint an...
