Summer fun. -Teddy Bear Picnic







This past weekend we took a little trip to the nature center.
We packed a little picnic. -Sandwiches, fruit, and cold beverages to cool us down. 
Our oldest daughter was thrilled that she was going on a teddy bear picnic. -This event included stories, crafts, a small hike, and a special guest. -Theodore Roosevelt.  The kids were given maps for their scavenger hunt. We set out to explore the outdoors and the children ran around.-Each child found an item on their map using the clues they were given. It was a fun adventure for all. After our hike, we found a cool place to unpack and enjoy our picnic. Ice cream was served and stories were read to the children. 

As we headed back home, we had two sleepy little ones. This day was very enjoyable. I think we all took naps once we arrived home. Hooray for summer fun!

    Oh that sounds like so much fun! We had a fun adventure at the movies this week. We saw Inside Out, which was a cute (and surprisingly sad) movie!

      Thanks Kristy! Aw, we want to take our oldest daughter to see that. I'm glad to hear that it was a cute movie. (I would have never guessed it was sad though). Aw, we'll have to check it out. It had some really good reviews. And yay to movie adventures! -Those are always fun!

    My house is all packed and getting prepared to clean out the old place this weekend. Touch up some nicks and think about paint colors in the new house.

Colorful Summer Flower: Recycled Paper Towel DIY

  Looking to bring a little sunshine into your space without visiting the craft store? This whimsical summer flower decoration makes great use of what you already have—think beads, pom poms, a humble paper towel tube, and a splash of acrylic paint. Bonus: it’s the perfect way to reuse an old frame and welcome summer in style! What You’ll Need: 1 paper towel tube (emptied, of course!) Acrylic paint (I chose a deeper pink) Craft pom poms (yellow makes a great center!) Assorted beads (medium for the stem, smaller for embellishing the petals) Foam letters (for your summer message) A reused frame (square or any shape of your choice) Scissors Hot glue gun Creating your summer flower decoration Cut the Tube and Shape the Petals :  Start by cutting the paper towel tube into four evenly-sized sections.
