Colorful Summer Flower: Recycled Paper Towel DIY

Looking to bring a little sunshine into your space without visiting the craft store? This whimsical summer flower decoration makes great use of what you already have—think beads, pom poms, a humble paper towel tube, and a splash of acrylic paint. Bonus: it’s the perfect way to reuse an old frame and welcome summer in style! What You’ll Need: 1 paper towel tube (emptied, of course!) Acrylic paint (I chose a deeper pink) Craft pom poms (yellow makes a great center!) Assorted beads (medium for the stem, smaller for embellishing the petals) Foam letters (for your summer message) A reused frame (square or any shape of your choice) Scissors Hot glue gun Creating your summer flower decoration Cut the Tube and Shape the Petals :  Start by cutting the paper towel tube into four evenly-sized sections. Each section will serve as a petal. You should be left with four rings. Next, flatten each ring, then gently reshape it to form soft ovals. These will mimic delicate flower...

From Trash to Treasure: DIY Faux Stained Glass Garden Decor

Today, I’m so excited to share a heart-centered project that turns a simple household item into an elevated piece of garden art. We are transforming a basic plastic plate into a vibrant, faux stained glass sun-catcher that sparkles in the sun. This project perfectly captures the "treasure from trash" philosophy, proving that you don’t need expensive materials to create something beautiful for your outdoor space. Video tutorial coming soon Materials for Your Garden Treasure Clear Plastic Plate: Start with a basic household item ready for upcycling.  Black Glass Paint: This will be used to trace your intricate floral design.  Transparent Glass Paints: I chose a palette of soft lavender, pink, and emerald green for a natural look.  Heat Tool: This is essential for setting your paint layers quickly so you can keep creating.  Hanging Tools: You can use a hole punch, a soldering iron, or even a hot glue gun, depending on your preference. Twine: This provides a simple...

How to Transform Glass Garlic Jars into Multi-Functional Pin Cushions with Storage

Transform your glass garlic jars into multi-functional pin cushions with storage by following this creative and practical DIY tutorial. You will learn how to repurpose these jars into stylish and useful organization tools for sewing or crafting supplies. Hello everyone! A while ago, I purchased some pin cushions from my local Dollar Tree and stored them away, completely forgetting about them. Today, while cleaning, I came across them and decided to use them with my glass garlic jars. I thought the glass garlic jars would be wonderful for creating multi-functional pin cushion storage jars. Materials Three pin cushions Glass jars (I'm reusing my garlic jars) Mod Podge Paintbrush Acrylic paint Sewing and craft accessories to add to each glass jar Adding Mod Podge and Paint to jars To give my jars a stained glass appearance, I combined my Mod Podge and paint. I used a paintbrush to add a thin layer of the mixture and then used a drying tool to dry the paint. I repeated this process for...
