Easy DIY Winter Hanging Decoration in Minutes

Hello everyone! Today, we will create a winter hanging decoration using just a few simple steps. I’ll incorporate my blossom peel-and-stick paper, which pairs beautifully with some miniature faux trees I already have. This project is perfect for beginners, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

If you’re ready, I will provide a complete materials list and step-by-step instructions. For those who prefer a visual guide, I’ll also share a quick video. Let’s get started on our winter hanging decoration!

Quick video tutorial

**Materials Needed:**

- One wooden hexagon (6" x 5")

- Acrylic paint

- Paintbrush

- Scissors

- Adhesive

- Mod Podge

- Epsom salt

- Miniature faux trees

- Peel-and-stick decorative paper

- Pen or pencil

Trace the Hexagon: Start by placing the wooden hexagon on top of the decorative peel-and-stick paper with the opening facing up. Use a pen or pencil to carefully trace around the hexagon onto the paper.

Cut Out the Shape: Use scissors to cut out the traced shape. If the cut-out doesn't fit the wooden hexagon perfectly, trim small amounts off the edges until it fits snugly. Be sure to check the fit by centering it on the hexagon as you go.

Adhere to the Paper: Once you have the correct shape, peel off the backing from the decorative paper. Gently press the paper down in the center of the wooden hexagon.

Paint the Hexagon: Using a paintbrush, apply acrylic paint to the wooden hexagon. I recommend painting around the inner section surrounding the decorative paper, as well as the outer section.

Add Miniature Trees: Take the adhesive and attach your miniature faux trees to the bottom inside of the hexagon.

Apply Mod Podge and Epsom Salt: With a smaller paintbrush, apply Mod Podge around the areas where you want to sprinkle the Epsom salt.

And that’s it! Your winter hanging decoration is complete. I love how it turned out, and I think the blossom pattern of the paper complements the winter design beautifully. This decoration makes a stunning addition to any space. Thank you for joining me in creating this winter hanging decoration!

It started with my husband having a cough, sore throat, sneezing, and whole-body aches. Of course, that was passed on to the rest of us, but we have been so fortunate to just have a sore throat. This calls for plenty of hydration, vitamin C, and occasional medication. I hope you all had a nice week. Just yesterday, the weather reached 102 degrees! It definitely was hot out. DIY Tea Tin Planter for Sweet Mint

Today’s tiny DIY win: turning an empty lemon‑ginger tea tin into a planter for a sweet mint plant that needed some love. I cleaned the tin, added drainage, and nestled the mint inside. It instantly brightened up the space — the colors on the tin and the fresh green leaves look so sweet together. I love giving everyday items a second life, especially when they end up this cute. Quick Video Tutorial  I began this little project by cleaning out an empty metal tea container that I had saved. It still held a soft scent of lemon and ginger, and I loved the idea of giving it a second life. Once I washed and dried it, the container felt ready for a new purpose.   Next, I used a finishing nail and a hammer to create a few drainage holes in the bottom of the tin. Since metal containers don’t have natural drainage, this step helps keep the roots healthy and prevents the soil from becoming soggy. Having prepared the container, I carefully removed the sweet mint from its original pot. The ...

Colorful Summer Flower: Recycled Paper Towel DIY

Looking to bring a little sunshine into your space without visiting the craft store? This whimsical summer flower decoration makes great use of what you already have—think beads, pom poms, a humble paper towel tube, and a splash of acrylic paint. Bonus: it’s the perfect way to reuse an old frame and welcome summer in style! What You’ll Need: 1 paper towel tube (emptied, of course!) Acrylic paint (I chose a deeper pink) Craft pom poms (yellow makes a great center!) Assorted beads (medium for the stem, smaller for embellishing the petals) Foam letters (for your summer message) A reused frame (square or any shape of your choice) Scissors Hot glue gun Creating your summer flower decoration Cut the Tube and Shape the Petals :  Start by cutting the paper towel tube into four evenly-sized sections. Each section will serve as a petal. You should be left with four rings. Next, flatten each ring, then gently reshape it to form soft ovals. These will mimic delicate flower...
