Blast off, and learn colors!

Learn about colors in a fun creative way! We created some little color rockets.  Materials needed to create your rockets  popsicle sticks craft paper  crayons   glue pencil/pen scissors You can either draw your own rocket and cut them out, or you can use a template.  I went ahead and drew the rockets.   We also added some glitter. Color each rocket a different color and label. Now blast off and learn about the different colors.

Life lately..

We finally had a down pour of rain the other day here in Colorado. (Something we all wanted to see) With the rain we had some hail, and some flooding. (It wasn't too bad).  Lately I have been taking our daughter to some of the summer programs at our local library.  The other day was Dino days, so she created a dinosaur mask, and a little puppet. :) My flowers in my front flowerbed are doing great. My mini rose bush has bloomed with some lovely pink roses.  The other day we spotted a few tomatoes in our vegetable garden.  I just recently connected with family I had lost contact with for a while, and it feels nice to start over again. My husband just recently went through our kitchen and wrote "I love you" on an egg in the egg carton, and a banana on the counter. (He does the cutest things!) :) I am so thankful for each day I wake to a new day filled with love, laughter, and happiness. Life lately has been wonderful to me. ~Stephanie

Red, white, and Blue-4th of July decorations.

We love craft time in our home. Today we made some 4th of July decorations, using just a few materials.  Materials needed: -Toilet paper roll/ paper towel roll -Glue -Glitter -Star stencil *optional -String -Craft paper -paint -crayons/markers I started off with tracing and cutting out a few stars, and then my daughter painted each star.  We used some crayons to color on some craft paper. After we applied some glue to the back side of the construction paper and covered the toilet paper rolls. We also added some glitter to each decoration. Then we glued on the stars. Simple, and very easy! Last just add some string. All done! :) We will probably hang these out in the back porch. Enjoy~ Pin for later

The place we call HOME.

Since moving to Colorado, (from Arizona) some time back, I've fallen in love with this place I call home. It's beautiful, the people here seem so down to earth, and I'm in love with being out in nature. They have so many trails, and nature centers. We love taking our daughter to the park, museum, children events, and more!  Our beautiful  daughter was born here on the military post back in 2011. Colorado is where we bought our now 6 year old pug, who we love dearly. We have attended wine festivals, local farmers market, and  have experienced the lovely sounds of the symphony. (I absolutely love their Christmas performances) Lately I've been praying that all of us experiencing this heat could see some rain very soon. This heat hasn't helped with the fires, and I know all of us here are praying that we can get some moisture soon. Last year everyone came together when we had the Waldo fire, and now we as a community are coming together...

Family fun-{creating paper bag puppets}

    We just recently made some paper bag puppets. A simple project, which we have done many times. It's just always such a fun family project. Using some washi tape, crayons, craft wiggly eyes, and yarn. We created some pretty cool puppets. :) Our daughter ran around the house pretending that her puppet was a monster as she made her little monster sounds. We had so much fun!     Since my husband has been on leave, we have been busy with activities for our daughter, enjoying nights out on the patio, staying up late watching movies, and doing a little bit of traveling. Our local library has been having summer programs (which I will post pictures at a later time), so that has also been keeping us busy with our daughter. We also took a trip down to Denver and visited the Children's Museum. (Oh, it was so fun.)           {My daughter's puppet}             ...

Hello beautiful day..

Today has been such a lovely day. Today my husband celebrated another year of becoming younger, of course! ;) No but really we celebrated his birthday, and boy what a lovely day it turned out to be. I was so thrilled to see that the gift  I ordered from shutterfly had arrived. I had a customized book made for him. It was a gift from both my daughter and I.  He absolutely loved it!     We also enjoyed a nice lunch at Bj's brewhouse.  Once we arrived back home we enjoyed some play time with our daughter.  We played with some blocks, and did some butterfly catching. :)       Later on in the day I baked a delicious strawberry cake..               It was yummy, I topped it with a strawberry whipped topping I put together. Also with some fresh strawberries, and drizzled chocolate. It was a hit! :) I'm really enjoying my husband's leave time right n...

Hello there little bunny...

Well hello there little bunny. We came across this cute baby  bunny while doing some yard work yesterday.     This morning my husband looked around for a ground nest. We did a little research last night, so he went out and looked around our backyard. He was successful at finding the ground nest. Inside there was one more baby bunny.     Isn't it cute!? We had to explain to our daughter that this was not our pet, and that we must stay our distance, and that they are not alone. We have seen the mom come and go for their feedings. I think they will move along soon, until then we have some tiny little bunny friends. :)
