Weekend love {❤}

Baked apple cinnamon chips, sweet kisses, and cool gentle breezes-Oh how I love weekends. This weekend I made some delicious baked apple cinnamon chips. And may I add, our home smelled absolutely lovely! We enjoyed this sweet healthy snack as the autumn sunset.  (Recipe below) baked apple chips Lately, I've been doing a lot of baking. I've been flipping through a few cookbooks, hoping to find a recipe that stands out. We have used our cookbooks quite a bit in the past. This weekend I made us a delicious dish, -Grilled kielbasa with pesto sauce and noodles.    ( how-to-simplify-Grilled Kielbasa and pesto penne ) This weekend, the weather was beautiful. The temp stayed in the mid-'60s, with a light cool breeze. I've started gathering gloves, sweaters, and even winter hats just to have them ready for when the cold weather decides to stick around. I've started preparing our home for winter weather. Tucking away summer blankets, and

Morning.

Mornings normally feel so hectic. At times I feel like I'm rushing to get things done.  This morning was peaceful and quite relaxing. Yesterday evening I made us some delicious pumpkin scones. I was thrilled to find a new recipe. This morning when every thing was calm, my daughter and I enjoyed our scones. I was at peace, sitting there giggling and watching my daughter enjoy her sweet pumpkin scones. We had the singer-songwriter station playing in the background. I took this opportunity to catch up on writing in her journal. If you're wondering, I started a journal for my daughter once we brought her home from the hospital back in 2011. It's filled with memories, stories, inspiring messages, and more! Just something she can look back on later on when she's older.   Even though mornings seem so hectic at times, mornings like this make me realize just how thankful I am to spend it with my love ones. What a beautiful morning.   Peaceful morning wi

Simple fall craft. {Bringing nature indoors}

-During our weekend adventure, we gathered a few leaves and even found a branch. Once home, we painted each leaf. Gold &bronze Using a hole puncher so that we could put some twine through each leaf. Just hang each leaf on a branch, and you're done! Enjoy!

Thoughts. The beauty of change

"Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree" -Emily Bronte The weekend arrived, and I was thrilled to adventure out into nature. So much beauty around, the scenery was breathtaking, and there was a cool breeze in the air. When we first moved out here to Colorado, I remember I cried. If you were to ask me why I'm sure I would tell you because I had called Arizona my home for so long. I was just sad to say goodbye. We relocated due to the Army. Once we arrived here, I can honestly say I fell in love. It's been a few years now, and I absolutely love it here. I now call this beautiful place my home.  We took a short adventure out in nature where we enjoyed some fresh air, took family pictures, and let our daughter climb, run, and explore. It was nice watching her enjoy being outdoors. Fall makes me so happy. Leaves changing in color, and falling from trees, it's all so beautiful. We sat by a small creek and enjoyed t

Our week. Living in the now

            Last week I was so worried about all that has been going on in the news, that I did not allow myself to enjoy my days to the fullest. Once I was reminded by my husband to just let go, I felt as though a weight was lifted off my shoulders. I'm constantly reminding myself the importance of letting go, and letting things just be. So this week, I took the time to appreciate the simple things in life. We baked, danced, and just enjoyed the simple things in life.    This morning we welcomed a few snow flurries. I made us some cinnamon swirl pancakes. They were delicious, and I enjoyed a nice cup of coffee. Shortly after we bundled up, and headed out to the library. This week we did some exploring. We took a trip down to the park, and explored the beautiful scenery. My daughter absolutely loves park days. Sliding, swinging, and saying hello to the friendly geese. We always have a lovely time at the park.  How was your week spent? Did you enjoy th

Thankful

Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn, or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love , grace , and gratitude . Denis Waitley   The weekend arrived and it was time to push my worries, and doubts aside. It's been a long two weeks with everything that has been going on with the shutdown, on top of many other things. This weekend I just let go and reminded myself just how thankful I am. This weekend the air was cool, with a slight breeze. The streets are covered in autumn leaves, and the sun attempted to make an appearance through the clouds. We spent most of our time indoors. My husband made some delicious caramel popcorn, which was amazing. We recently purchased a popcorn maker since we had a popcorn recipe book sitting around collecting dust. It's been nice experimenting with the different recipes. We also cooked up a delicious dinner, we had lasagna stuffed shells. I'm not sure if it's the weather, but we ha
