Exploring, Baking and more.

“Let Nature be your teacher.” – William Wordsworth

This weekend: We explored the garden. Searching for worms, beetles, and what other interesting insects we came across. Our daughter caught a few with her insect net and placed them in her bug catcher. Soon after exploring with her magnifying glass, we released these tiny critters back where they belong.

We also enjoyed our time exploring flowers. Up close and personal -using the magnifying glass. We discussed the different shapes, textures, designs, and more.

In my garden: Flowers are bloomed, bees are happy-buzzing around and hummingbirds stop in for a visit.

In the kitchen- My husband decided to make a few donut balls.- Warm and iced over with a sweet delicious frosting.

We enjoyed every last bite...

Later in the kitchen- I prepared a side dish to go along with the brisket my husband had been cooking for hours.  I put together one of my favorites-cauliflower bake with green olives, parsley, and chopped croutons. You combine everything with olive oil. Then season with a bit of salt and pepper.- Oh my, it's delicious. We used habanero olives that we picked up from World Market.

We enjoyed our time spent exploring, baking, and cooking. We also took our first hospital tour. We have our next one scheduled for this upcoming weekend. I took some notes and I'll compare the two. We experienced rain on Saturday. It was quick but nice. After the rain came to an end, we went on a nice family bike ride. On our bike ride, we saw, horses, and trains, and the sky was absolutely beautiful as the sun was setting.

Hello and welcome new readers. I hope you all enjoy your stay! :)

  1. I was actually craving donuts yesterday. I was gonna go to this local donut shop but didn't have time :(
Your daughter is braver than mine. She is recently terrified of bugs even worms. I tried to show her a worm I found in the yard and she ran away screaming lol I hope she gets over this fear

    1. Lol, don't you just love when those cravings happen?! I honestly wasn't expecting that for breakfast. My husband just made it and was like here are some donuts. :) Oh don't worry your daughter will get over that fear. Our daughter will look at worms, but she has not touched it.- Lol

But she did push a roly poly off our front porch, lol.

    1. Jennifer, aw thank you. I was hoping this first hospital tour would blow me away. That wasn't the case at all. Both my husband and I were not into it. Hopefully this next one will be much better. I wish I wasn't so picky, but I am when it comes down to things like this. Thank you for your kind words. :)

Succulent Centerpiece using Dollar Tree Items

Looking to add some greenery to your space?  Hello everyone! Today, we’re going to create a quick and simple succulent display using a round baking pan from Dollar Tree. I completed this craft a while ago, but forgot to share it with you. It's an easy project, and all the materials—except for the spray paint—were purchased at Dollar Tree. You can make this lovely decoration in just 10 minutes. Let’s get started on this succulent decoration together! Materials -One baking pan -Spray paint -Stones/rocks -Crushed glass -Artificial succulents -One glass candle holder Start by applying spray paint to the baking pan. I had a bronze color from a previous project, and it would be a great opportunity to use it again. When applying spray paint, make sure to cover the surrounding area and ensure that the space is well-ventilated.  Once you have painted the pan, allow the paint to dry. I used a heating tool to speed up the drying process, but if you prefer, you can let it air dry, which m...

Keeping Blogging Positive: The Do’s and Don’ts of Community Support

The Do’s and Don’ts in a Blogging Community If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years of blogging, it’s that the community can be one of the best parts of the whole experience — when we’re actually supporting each other. Blogging isn’t just hitting publish and hoping someone reads it. It’s connecting, showing up for one another, and creating a space where everyone feels welcome to share their voice. But let’s be honest: not every corner of the blogging world feels that way. Sometimes people forget that behind every blog is a real person doing their best. So I wanted to put together a simple, down‑to‑earth list of do’s and don’ts — the things that genuinely help build a positive blogging community, and the things that… well, don’t. Nothing complicated, nothing dramatic. Just the kind of common‑sense, supportive habits that make blogging more enjoyable for all of us. The Do’s: How We Can Lift Each Other Up Do show support in ways that feel natural to you Support doesn’t have to b...

Lately: Things That Have Made My Heart Happy

Lately, I’ve been holding onto the small things—the gentle, unexpected moments that slip in between the busy ones and remind me how much beauty there is in simply being here, together. We’re almost stepping into April, and even though this month has brought its share of mishaps and little detours, it has also offered us so many soft, shining memories. The kind that settle in quietly and stay. These are the moments that have made my heart happy… Welcoming Spring With Fresh Flowers One morning at the market, I picked up a small bundle of spring flowers—nothing extravagant, just simple blooms in soft colors that felt like a whisper of the season ahead. Bringing them home and placing them on the table instantly brightened the whole space. It felt like inviting spring inside, letting a little bit of newness and hope settle into our everyday rhythm. Sunsets That Slow the World Down Evening after evening, the sky has been putting on a show—warm gold melting into rose, fading into deep violet....
