Teamwork. Simple days

It's summer, and boy has it been heating up! This weekend we stayed in. We joined in the baby's room and painted as a family. Our daughter helped with excitement. We played some music and chatted about our plans for when her little sister arrives. Before we painted, we had a buttercream-light yellow color on the walls. It was a color I chose during my husband's last deployment in the Army.

Of course, with a toddler, painting took two full days. In between, we snacked on kettle corn and oranges while watching a movie. With this heat, I've been watering my plants early morning and later in the evening. After our time spent painting, we all freshened up and enjoyed a nice dinner. It felt so nice to sit and relax.

Our days were simple. Teamwork at its best! I'm happy to say we finished the painting.

How did you spend your time this weekend?

    1. Marizta, aw thank you. It sure is exciting getting things ready. Oh and you know when I talk about the heat, I often think of you. I remember where you are at and suddenly I don't want to complain much, lol. I should be okay with this weather, since I lived in Arizona for so long. I guess it's the heat and pregnancy combined. Lol ;) And thank you on the comment on my daughter and her curls. -We love them too! I hope you're having a wonderful Monday friend.

DIY Tea Tin Planter for Sweet Mint

Today’s tiny DIY win: turning an empty lemon‑ginger tea tin into a planter for a sweet mint plant that needed some love. I cleaned the tin, added drainage, and nestled the mint inside. It instantly brightened up the space — the colors on the tin and the fresh green leaves look so sweet together. I love giving everyday items a second life, especially when they end up this cute. Quick Video Tutorial  I began this little project by cleaning out an empty metal tea container that I had saved. It still held a soft scent of lemon and ginger, and I loved the idea of giving it a second life. Once I washed and dried it, the container felt ready for a new purpose.   Next, I used a finishing nail and a hammer to create a few drainage holes in the bottom of the tin. Since metal containers don’t have natural drainage, this step helps keep the roots healthy and prevents the soil from becoming soggy. Having prepared the container, I carefully removed the sweet mint from its original pot. The ...
