Spring Refresh: Mini Clip Photo Frame Hack for Seasonal Decor

Are you ready to spruce up your living space this spring? If yes, I have an easy and inexpensive DIY project for you. We will use one of Dollar Tree's mini clip photo frames to create a mini spring display that will complement your existing spring decor. This fun craft project can also be added to a tiered tray.  I'll provide you with a full list of materials below.

Spring decoration mini photo clip frame

Materials needed

  • Mini clip photo frame
  • Acrylic paint
  • Decorative floral napkin
  •  Mod Podge
  •  Paintbrush
  • Optional paper flower embellishment/magnet for hanging on the refrigerator
  • Letter stamps and stamp ink pad
  • Scissors
Materials-napkin, stamps, mini frame

Step One: Applying Paint to the Photo Frame

Start by taking a paintbrush and applying paint to the frame. I chose to paint my frame white. It took me about two coats of paint to give it complete coverage. Set your frame aside and let it dry.

Step Two: Cutting the Napkin

Use scissors to cut out any floral designs from your napkin that you want to use in your design. I cut a few leaves and mini flowers from my napkin for my design.

Step Three: Adding Mod Podge

Next, take your paintbrush and start adding Mod Podge to the frame. I added my Mod Podge in sections as I added my flowers and leaves individually. After placing them over the Mod Podge, I used my heating tool on low heat over the sections. Finally, I applied a final coat of Mod Podge to each of my cut-out designs.

Step Four: Adding the paper flower and Stamped Letters

I  added a paper flower to the clip on the frame. Next, I added my stamped letters on the bottom left-hand side of my decoration. I added the words "Spring is Here" to complete the overall look.

Now, if you want to display your spring mini clip frame, you can use either magnet buttons or a magnet strip. Remove the stand on the back of the frame and add your magnet. I decided to leave my frame with the stand. I decided to add my mini clip frame to a tiered tray with a few other spring decorations.
