There’s something so satisfying about taking a simple little Dollar Tree crate — especially one that’s already lived a previous craft life — and turning it into something elegant and fresh. This easy faux floral centerpiece came together in just a few minutes, and it’s the perfect project if you want a pretty pop of color without spending much at all.
- One Dollar Tree wooden crate (mine was already painted black from an older craft)
- Twine
- Faux florals in light and dark pinks
- One foam block (pre‑cut or trimmed to fit)
- One artificial topiary bunny (optional, but adorable)
- Adhesive of your choice
- Floral cutters
How to Make It
Step 1: Wrap the Twine
Start by wrapping twine around the top section of your crate. I like to keep it simple — just a few neat wraps to add a little rustic texture against the black paint. Tie it off in the back or secure the ends with a dab of adhesive so everything stays in place.
Step 2: Add the Foam and Florals
Place your foam block inside the crate. If it’s not already the right size, just trim it down until it fits snugly.
Using floral cutters, trim your faux flowers to the height you want. I like mixing the lighter pinks with the deeper shades so the arrangement feels full and balanced. Insert each stem into the foam, working from the center outward until the crate looks lush and filled.
Step 3: Add the Topiary Bunny (Optional but Cute)
If you’re using the little topiary bunny, nestle it right between the flowers. It adds such a sweet, whimsical touch — perfect for spring or Easter décor, but honestly, cute any time of year.
Step 4: Finish with a Twine Bow
Take a small piece of twine and tie a quick, simple bow. Attach it to the front of the crate with adhesive. It’s a tiny detail, but it really pulls the whole look together and softens the black paint beautifully.
