How I Transformed the Box
Instead of measuring each side, I simply lined the box up with the peel‑and‑stick wallpaper, traced around it, and cut out the sections. This method keeps things easy and relaxed — perfect for quick crafting sessions. I used my decorative edge scissors to cut out two sections for the front and back of the box.
Once the wallpaper pieces were ready, I applied them to the box, smoothing out any bubbles as I went. The decorative edge scissors added a soft, scalloped detail along the top, giving the box a sweet, finished look.
To elevate the design, I painted the top rim for the front and back of the box with gold acrylic paint. The gold trim adds warmth and a little shine, tying everything together beautifully. I also added gold paint around a few of the leaves on the design.
For a touch of sparkle, I added adhesive gems around the leaf design. They catch the light just enough to make the box feel special without overwhelming the design.
Final Thoughts
This project demonstrates that you don’t need exact measurements or costly materials to create something beautiful. With just a bit of wallpaper, some paint, and a few decorative gems, you can transform a simple box into an attractive piece that you’ll enjoy using and displaying. It was a sturdier box, yes. I can't recall that exact box. Definitely not one of those collapsible gift boxes. You could easily use one; for example, a cardboard box from Amazon would work perfectly fine as well. Any box for the most part, just not one that is flimsy. Hope that helps. 😊

DeleteThis is such a cute idea. I have a lidded cardboard box that I bought in 1976 at a Raley's store that I have been constantly since then using as a makeup box. It is probably time to redo the outside of it. Although, I don't know. It is almost an antique. LOL
