I can't wait for Autumn to arrive. This weekend we indulged in a few goodies and picked tomatoes from the garden. We used some tomatoes for our grilled kabobs. (They were delicious) I enjoyed my kabobs with a nice glass of Moscato. Over the weekend we enjoyed some play shopping with our daughter. She really enjoys pretend shopping and cooking.  We bagged up her groceries, and later cooked up some tasty food in her play kitchen. We enjoyed painting in the morning with our little artist. I just love watching her create art. :) My husband made apple pancakes ...

Hello September-DIY sweet gift wrapping

Hello, September! We finally meet again. September is my birth month, and I've always enjoyed the cool air that begins to fill this month. I appreciate the beautiful colors of blooming flowers and the old ones that slowly fade. It's all just so lovely. Since I love personalized gift wrapping, I decided to create something special. It’s a sweet gift wrap to welcome Autumn, which will soon be upon us. **Materials needed:** - Paper bag (for wrapping the package) - Washi tape (I absolutely love washi tape, and I think you will too!) - Fresh flowers - Twine **Here's what you'll need to do:** It’s pretty simple: 1. Grab your special gift. 2. Insert it into the paper bag. 3. Wrap it up and apply your washi tape. 4. Using the twine, tie some fresh flowers to your wrapped gift. You're all done and ready to give your beautifully wrapped gift to someone special. Enjoy! Currently on my playlist: - Yuna - "Fading Flower" (YouTube) Feel free to pin or shar...

Maraca fun.

I've seen so many creative ways to make maracas, and I thought this one was great! We have two sets of store-bought maracas. I  wanted something my daughter could make, and later have fun with.  My daughter took a few different sharpies and created art on the plastic eggs. Once she was done, we filled them up with macaroni noodles. (Which I forgot to mention as one of the things needed in the picture above)  Below you can view the video we played and danced to. We had a lovely time. Have fun shaking your maracas!!!!! Pin for later

Learning and Playtime.

Outdoor Play Cooking We had so much fun today! We did some outdoor play cooking. For this, we used a few spaghetti noodles, rice, and a few herbs. My daughter enjoyed combining everything and stirring it all up. I used some empty toothpick containers as the salt and pepper shakers. It was so fun and very hands-on. Beautiful summer.

A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken. - James Dent                   Beautiful summer days and nights are spent with my family. We enjoy spending time in the garden and cutting fresh flowers. Our daughter enjoys evenings out playing with water and drawing with chalk. The clouds move in, and the sun peaks through. It's so beautiful, these summer days and nights. I'm thankful for all that we have and the time we spend together. My flowers are blooming, so many beautiful colors. We spend a lot of time creating art and exploring with different colors of paint. I find so much happiness in the little things. Lately, I've been cooking up a few new dishes and baking like the Fall season has arrived. (Especially when we have our rainy evenings.) We enjoy cozy nights spent out on the patio. We play music and danc...

DIY Summer vegetable and flower seed packaging

Simple Summer vegetable/flower seed packaging for gift giving This simple and personalized packaging is perfect for gift-giving. I once put together a gardening gift for my mother. It included a hand shovel, vegetable seeds, and a cute pot for planting. (And gardening gloves of course. I decided to put together this simple package for seeds. I purchased these cute tags at Target.     Fold your craft paper or card stock in half and cut. Staple the sides leaving an opening at the top. Using washi tape apply it to your packaging. I did this to cover the staples. Once you are done, you can either put your seed package directly into your handmade packaging, or you can open and drop your seeds into your package. If you drop your seeds directly into your packaging make sure to use washi tape to close off the top. This way the seeds are secure inside).  It's really that simple. Enjoy!

Play-Doh Cafe

Today at Play-Doh cafe, we grilled up some hot dogs, baked a delicious pizza, and found a one-of-a-kind recipe for mom's homemade meatballs to add to our Italian seasoned spaghetti. We served up root beer floats and  Italian cream sodas. Our pug dined in and when he was finished he left us a very nice tip! Oh, what fun we had with our pretend play. Pin for later
