Saturday.

This weekend. Laughter. Hugs. Smiles. Love.  And... a whole lot of  C O L O R ! We spent this day at the Color Run. It was a first for us and we absolutely loved every second of it. ♡ Pink! One of my favorite colors. Yellow. Our first color in the color run. About to party... The post-race party! Music, dancing, and of course more color. (My daughter is the little one with the tutu on. She's with her dad enjoying the view as she sits on his shoulders.)  And of course, the happy wall. --What makes you happy?

Made with love.

Just a few apples. Cinnamon. Brown Sugar. Butter. Vanilla extract. Flour. And a whole lot of  love . Mixing together.  Laughing together. Bonding together. Sharing these special memories together. This is what truly warms my heart.  This time..with my family. Preparing a delicious pie that we'll all share together.  I absolutely love this time together. Ah, perfect and made with so much love .

Days go by...

♥ My garden continues to thrive.  ♥ Peppers are on the way. --I'll add them to sandwiches, salads, and more!  ♥ Baby is now 11 months. Oh my! She's growing so fast. I'm still nursing and I am so very thankful. She's been enjoying some yogurt topped with pureed peaches. --Ah, she's in love.  ♥ New recipes. Ah, yes I enjoy baking. Recently made a batch of these yummy banana-peanut butter cookies.   ♥  They were absolutely delicious.  ♥ Our oldest daughter really enjoys coloring. I enjoy that time as well. I sit and watch her color so peacefully. --She doesn't know this, but when I watch her...I often think about all the amazing things she'll do when she's older. I'm already so amazed by her.  ♥ Block building is very popular in our home. Our littlest one is starting to enjoy this time building blocks with her sister.

Summer Happenings: Books and things.

One benefit of summer was that each day we had more light to read by. ~Jeannette Walls,  The Glass Castle Ah, summer...it's hot out and the girls have been enjoying their time cooling off in their little pool. Occasionally I'll dip my feet in and enjoy a quick splash. Did I mention that it’s hot here?! Okay, I know it's summer and that's to be expected. This summer, we enjoyed peppers, cilantro, and tomatoes from our garden. - I'm thinking about making fresh salsa soon.  Our days are filled with reading, reading, and more reading! Our oldest completed her summer reading. She's enjoying her love for books. I'm so proud of her.  We recently attended the Dr. Seuss spectacular event for the book, What Pet Should I Get? It's believed to have been written between 1958 and 1962. It was discovered by his widow while she was cleaning out his office shortly after his death in 1991 and then it was rediscovered in 2013. Of course,...

Prepare. Sit. Eat. And Enjoy.

We're always so thrilled to try new recipes. Cooking at home is something we enjoy very much. We recently made a delicious dish. - Cabbage with beef/pork and rice topped with a spicy tomato sauce.  This delicious dish is one of   Martha Stewart's recipes.  It was very easy to prepare and it came together very well. Our 4-year-old daughter even had seconds.  We started off with the spicy tomato sauce. Heating a pan and adding onion, garlic, and red pepper flakes. We had this to cook until it was all tender. After putting our crushed tomatoes in a food processor, we then added the tomatoes and juice to the pan. We allowed it all to simmer and later thicken.  We also added a few of our own spices along with salt. While our sauce was cooling, I brought a pot of hot water to a boil. I added a few pinches of salt to the boiling water.  Then, I added the cabbage. It was easier for me to peel the cabbage apart prior to adding it to the ...
