Simple Things.- The week

Our week has been simple, and peaceful. Around this time of the year, everything seems so hectic and rushed. I vowed that we would not fall into the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.  This week we enjoyed a few simple things that bring me so much joy.

We made a peppermint ice cream cake-perfect for this time of year. I've been burning my sweet sugar cookie candle. I'm sure my husband is tired of asking me if I'm baking when he enters our home. I swear this candle smells amazing. I enjoyed the mornings spent with our little one. We've been reading through a collection of illustrated poems for children. She enjoys the illustrations, just as much as I do.

We spend our time working on activities; activities that involve learning colors, shapes, and counting. I try to make it as fun as possible. While in the kitchen, our daughter enjoys washing her play plates and cups. Splashing, and making bubbles-it's always such a fun time.

I'm really enjoying the evening when our Christmas lights are turned on, and we sit around and our daughter sings for us. It's always a wonderful show. She sings, dances, and makes sure daddy and I are watching the entire show. -Moments like this I'll cherish for as long as I live.

It has been a wonderful week, and I hope the same for all of you.

**Welcome everyone. I'm so happy to have you all on this wonderful journey. Thank you for being such wonderful blog friends**

  4. Heehee, I enjoyed the chair poem. It reminded me of college philosophy class and dealing with the "chair problem." What is a chair? How do you know it exists? If I sat on the table does that make it a "chair?"

Sometimes I wanted to scream, "just sit in it!" Random thought for the day...

My husband and I don't have kids yet, but that all sounds lovely. =) Have a good week!

A while ago, I purchased some pin cushions from my local Dollar Tree and stored them away, completely forgetting about them. Materials Three pin cushions Glass jars (I'm reusing my garlic jars) Mod Podge Paintbrush Acrylic paint Sewing and craft accessories to add to each glass jar Adding Mod Podge and Paint to jars To give my jars a stained glass appearance, I combined my Mod Podge and paint. I used a paintbrush to add a thin layer of the mixture and then used a drying tool to dry the paint. I repeated this process for...

Transforming a Chocolate Box into a Beautiful Hanging Heart

Chocolates always have a way of making things better, don't they? In this project, we'll repurpose a heart-shaped chocolate box into a beautiful hanging heart decoration that you can proudly display for Valentine's Day. I'll provide you with a list of materials needed and guide you through the simple step-by-step process. So, get ready to give your leftover chocolate box a new lease on life! Hi there, I hope everything is going well for you. Today, I want to share with you a simple upcycling holiday craft idea. The three main materials you will need for this craft are a bowl, a cork, and some wintery foliage. I used a cork lid from a salt bottle that I had kept, and a pink bowl I had bought a few months ago for just 50 cents. You can easily put this project together in less than 15 minutes, and it looks absolutely beautiful once it's displayed. So, if you're ready, let's start creating! Here's what you'll need One bowl (any size works, I am using a smaller bowl for my design) Wintery faux foliage Cork (I am reusing a cork from a salt bottle) Hot glue Floral cutters (to cut foliage to size) Pinecones (optional) Attaching the cork to the bowl To begin, turn your bowl...
