Happy and thankful.

Happy, thankful....just living.
A little bit of everything.

Currently:
-Looking through cookbooks. I've been eyeing our Ice cream & sorbet recipe book.
-Relieved that most of my morning sickness has gone away.
-Planning on planting seeds and filling empty pots with a few Spring flowers.
-Attending events at our local library with the little one.
-Opening windows on warmer days.
-Experimenting with natural cleaners.
-Enjoy hugs and kisses from our daughter.
-Enjoying the time spent with my family.

Each morning we wake to a beautiful new day.
I've been feeling a bit sluggish, but I'm happy to say my growing baby bump has started to develop.
Luckily, I can still see my toes.

It's Spring and yes the past few days it has snowed. I was content and spent those cold days indoors. I'm just happy that this week seems to have plenty of sunshine and warmer temps. I'll celebrate by sitting out and soaking up some sun.-Maybe I'll even tend to my garden.

We started going back to the library.-Reading, dancing, and doing plenty of exploring. It's Spring break and there are so many activities and events to keep kids of all ages busy.

I've started planning my trips to the farmer's market and I'm looking forward to art days on the street.
I'm planning our daughter's birthday. She's turning 3 in April. -She's excited about our trip to the Denver aquarium. The first time we ever went she was younger and I'm sure she doesn't remember much.

I've been on Pinterest pinning cake recipes like a crazy woman. It looks like I'll be making her a strawberry cake, with fresh strawberries and whipped strawberry frosting. Every day she reminds us that her birthday is in April. Of course, we let her know we haven't forgotten. :)

I still indulge in fruit. -I just can't get enough of it. I've been participating in yoga and a few other daily exercises to boost my energy level. I carry water with me where ever I go.-And if not...I swear my husband could be the water police!  ;)

I've been enjoying my time with my family.-Giggles, hugs, games, cooking, and a whole lot more! It's nice to just be able to enjoy these simple moments in life. So I'm taking a deep breath, kicking my feet up, and saying hello to Spring.

I hope you all are enjoying your Spring break. :)

Colorful Summer Flower: Recycled Paper Towel DIY

Looking to bring a little sunshine into your space without visiting the craft store? This whimsical summer flower decoration makes great use of what you already have—think beads, pom poms, a humble paper towel tube, and a splash of acrylic paint. Bonus: it’s the perfect way to reuse an old frame and welcome summer in style! What You’ll Need: 1 paper towel tube (emptied, of course!) Acrylic paint (I chose a deeper pink) Craft pom poms (yellow makes a great center!) Assorted beads (medium for the stem, smaller for embellishing the petals) Foam letters (for your summer message) A reused frame (square or any shape of your choice) Scissors Hot glue gun Creating your summer flower decoration Cut the Tube and Shape the Petals :  Start by cutting the paper towel tube into four evenly-sized sections. Each section will serve as a petal. You should be left with four rings. Next, flatten each ring, then gently reshape it to form soft ovals. These will mimic delicate flower...

Fun with popsicle sticks...and more!

Since my daughter and I didn't make it out to the library, we did our own craft, and story time. (Which in my opinion is the best) :) Today we made popsicle stick frames, with a message. It was so much fun. For this craft the materials you need are: -Popsicle sticks -Hot glue gun -Paint -Markers/crayons -Construction paper (and scissors) 1.Start off by making a frame out of your popsicle sticks. Glue the corners together. I went ahead and made a message on construction paper to glue on to the back of the frame. (You will have to cut it to fit the frame. 2.Once that is done, paint your frame. (Have fun with it!) My daughter had so much fun with all the different colors. :) 3.Now once that is finished make a T-shape out of two popsicle sticks. (This is for the stand for the back of the frame.) Glue both sticks together, and glue it to the back of the construction paper. You're all done! Now you have a cute popsicle stick frame, with a message! Enjoy~ ...
