Snakes in the desert. Craft for little ones

Snakes In The Desert I may have been missing Arizona and the desert life when I came up with this craft for my daughter. She seemed to enjoy it and it was a quick craft to do together. Materials needed: TP roll Paper plate Paint/paint brushes Scissors A few rocks Craft eyes Glue I started off by cutting the TP roll. Then using my scissors I wrapped and pulled the TP roll.  This causes it to create a spiral shape and curl. This is what you want to do to create the snake's body. Next, paint each one and allow it to dry. Once it is dry, glue on your craft eyes.  I took a paper plate and cut out the center and we used brown paint to paint it. After allowing that to dry, we then glued on our snakes.  I used some leftover TP rolls and made a cactus for our desert.   Grab a few rocks from outside and set it up so that it looks as though your snakes are in the desert. You're all done! I hope you enjoyed this craft....

Bonding Together.

“cozy+smell of pancakes-alarm clock=weekend” ― Amy Krouse Rosenthal   The smell of rain lingers, hello morning sunlight it's so nice to see you.  There is joy and laughter among us. Once again I am at peace. :) Weekends are spent bonding, and creating new memories as a family. We get to set aside our busy schedules we have during the week, kick back, and just enjoy each other's company more. This weekend the weather was cool. It rained, and I took out my oil burner. Our home was filled with the aroma of apple spice. (This is when I realized, I am pretty excited for autumn to arrive). What season do you enjoy the most? I'm torn between autumn, and  spring.        Exploring with beads.           My daughter and I enjoyed creating art. This can even be done on ceramic plates. We used two of our ceramic coffee cups. Taking permanent markers,...

Our summer days...

Hello, meet Lion, and spotty the dog. After making our paper plate tambourines (below) we used the rest of our paper plate to make these adorable play masks. :) So for the past few days I've been hearing "Roar" and "Ruff Ruff". It makes me smile every time!     (We enjoyed the sounds of our paper plate tambourine, we danced, and sang. It was absolutely wonderful.)   It's nice to see some color in my vegetable garden. :)   My daughter said "mom bee". So of course I had to snap a few photos of our garden visitor.       Our summer days have been spent enjoying rainy days and reading books. For the past week, it has been raining, and I absolutely love it. We have been enjoying the simple things in life. Baking, crafting, some gardening, and my daughter's favorite seeing rainbows after the storm has passed. It's nice to see new flowers have bloomed, especially the ones our daughter has helped with. So ...

Weekend love. Creating memories

Friday was such a wonderful day, we spent our morning at the library. They were having a block party. They had vendors, firemen, police, games for children, and live performances.   We also had this lovely visitor visit our flowerbed {Hello hummingbird}       I absolutely love when it rains. We actually had a pretty good thunderstorm over the weekend. The rain came pouring down, and I of course enjoyed the nice breeze that came along with it.       My husband was anticipating the arrival of two books he recently ordered from Barnes and Noble. This weekend they finally arrived, and he was thrilled.     He's such a great Daddy to our daughter. They have such a beautiful father-daughter bond.   This weekend we also picked up a telescope, and sat out and looked at a few stars once the storm passed. We also spent a lot of time in the kitchen preparing delicious meals together. This weekend I m...

Simple DIY for fresh flowers

I love simple DIY projects.  After cutting a few flowers from my flowerbed, I decided to put them on display by using an old glass candle jar.  I have done similar projects like this before, and it only takes a minute or two.   Any glass jar will do, but I ended up using an empty glass candle jar.  I  started off by washing out my glass jar. You want to make sure to get rid of all of the candle wax that may still be in your jar. After I took some of my pink and green tapes, cut them, and applied them to my glass jar.  Taking some fresh flowers from my garden, I placed them in my glass jar with some water. Place your fresh flowers in an area where you can enjoy them.  I set them on our kitchen windowsill.  Now I'm able to enjoy the beautiful colors of my summer flowers.  Simple and fun. -Enjoy! Summer days- Exploring water

Outdoor water play/ Exploring with water. My setup may not be the prettiest, but boy, did we have fun. I used tape and taped our watering system to our glass sliding door. If you have a 1-gallon water jug, cut that in half and use that as part of your water system. I put this together using a few play eggs. We made sure to tilt them so that when water is poured into one, it can easily make its way to the next egg. I used a few items from our kitchen. Use the other half of your jug to collect the water, or you can use a bucket. My daughter loved pouring water and watching it make its way down. This is very hands-on, and did I mention fun for the little ones!
