July. Lately

Lately...

We've been enjoying our summer so much. How's your summer going?

We have been attending the library for special events and our oldest is zooming through the summer reading program. -She's pretty excited about the cute little prizes they get after each section is completed.

It's been raining so much. I'm actually enjoying it very much. On rainy days we play board games, build forts and just enjoy our time together as a family.  We came across some watermelon-flavored cupcakes while shopping. We baked them and spread them on some very green icing. -Honestly, I wasn't so crazy about them. Something about the flavor threw me off a bit. My oldest and my husband seemed to have enjoyed it. I'm happy they at least enjoyed it.

We've been grilling more. Chicken, steak, sausages, and more. My husband picked up a small smoker box for the grill. He's been adding in some wood chips when he starts up the grill. I'm thrilled about making kabobs over the weekend.

My oldest has been preparing food in her play kitchen. She bakes and even grills for us all.  Her restaurant is always open and she's always so excited when she gets new orders. :)  She's also been taking care of her baby doll. She feeds her and cuddles her to sleep. Our little one will be 10 months on the 16th of this month. She's very active. Crawling, boosting, sitting up, and getting her hands on everything she comes across. She keeps me very active!

All is well and we can't wait for more summer fun. I hope you all are enjoying your summer with your family and friends. :)

Hello and welcome new readers. And a big thank you to those who visit and leave such sweet words. I appreciate you all!!

  1. Not a fun surgery sadly. I'm recovering from surgery and next weekend we move. I'm just ready for August to get here. It'll be a much more quieter time and I'll get to enjoy my coffee on my back patio and watch my little guy roll around in the grass. First time we've had grass! Haha even in this place we are in now it's just bushes and the tiniest slab of concrete you've ever seen.

  2. That sounds like a great summer Stephanie! I'm not sure I would be a big fan of the watermelon cupcakes either, but if it's sweet I know my kids would enjoy them. :)

Our summer has been busy, but a lot more relaxing now that July has come. I hope your family continues to have a great one! xxo

    1. Kristy, thank you so much! Yeah they had a different taste. -One I just wasn't very fond of. I think cupcakes should taste more like cake and not jello mix. Lol

I'm happy to hear you've been able to relax. That's always nice. -Especially when you're having a busy summer. Gosh, I always feel so busy. :) Thank you for stopping by. I need to visit your blog!

Colorful Summer Flower: Recycled Paper Towel DIY

Looking to bring a little sunshine into your space without visiting the craft store? This whimsical summer flower decoration makes great use of what you already have—think beads, pom poms, a humble paper towel tube, and a splash of acrylic paint. Bonus: it’s the perfect way to reuse an old frame and welcome summer in style! What You’ll Need: 1 paper towel tube (emptied, of course!) Acrylic paint (I chose a deeper pink) Craft pom poms (yellow makes a great center!) Assorted beads (medium for the stem, smaller for embellishing the petals) Foam letters (for your summer message) A reused frame (square or any shape of your choice) Scissors Hot glue gun Creating your summer flower decoration Cut the Tube and Shape the Petals :  Start by cutting the paper towel tube into four evenly-sized sections. Each section will serve as a petal. You should be left with four rings. Next, flatten each ring, then gently reshape it to form soft ovals. These will mimic delicate flower...

Succulent Centerpiece using Dollar Tree Items

Looking to add some greenery to your space?  Hello everyone! Today, we’re going to create a quick and simple succulent display using a round baking pan from Dollar Tree. I completed this craft a while ago, but forgot to share it with you. It's an easy project, and all the materials—except for the spray paint—were purchased at Dollar Tree. You can make this lovely decoration in just 10 minutes. Let’s get started on this succulent decoration together! Materials -One baking pan -Spray paint -Stones/rocks -Crushed glass -Artificial succulents -One glass candle holder Start by applying spray paint to the baking pan. I had a bronze color from a previous project, and it would be a great opportunity to use it again. When applying spray paint, make sure to cover the surrounding area and ensure that the space is well-ventilated.  Once you have painted the pan, allow the paint to dry. I used a heating tool to speed up the drying process, but if you prefer, you can let it air dry, which m...
