  1. It's bittersweet for me every year to say goodbye to summer and have to welcome in fall. With the exception of football season and cooler weather fall depresses me because I know winter is next and here comes the cold and snow! We do our fair share to make sure we are festive with mums and fall plantings and fall smelling candles in the house. The scents of fall I enjoy, not the raking of the leaves. :)

    1. Scott, I would have to agree about the raking of the leaves. --Especially because all the leaves in our yard are from our neighbors trees, lol. Fall smelling candles are wonderful. I think my two favorite are apple, and pumpkin scent. Thanks so much for stopping by, and sharing your thoughts with me. :)

  3. I love the change of seasons. Fall is such a magical time; the color change of leaves, getting out sweaters and adding another blanket onto the bed. And these tips are really fantastic to help getting ready for the cozy season.

  5. I love the idea of the leaf garland with lights in the window. Our stairs don't have a banister, so this would be perfect. I put out my pumpkin decorations in September and leave them up through the end of November. Plus, there's just something about apple cider, cinnamon, and pumpkins that appeal to all my senses!

    1. Tracy, I can't wait to have some apple cider, and just open all the windows and let in the cool breeze. And yes the leaf garland in the window is so pretty. I love putting it out when the season begins.

  8. Summer is my favourite season, so I always feel a bit sad once the chrysanthemums start coming out. On the other hand, Fall is the start of sweater weather and I do have a weakness for those. I don't normally decorate for Fall, but maybe I should start. It's a nice way to celebrate the season instead of focusing on there being no more summer.

  9. Love the idea of adding a leaf garland with lights, and candles too! If it were up to me I'd keep those things all year round!

  10. Fall is my FAVOURITE time of year, hands down - although it is mainly due to Halloween. The difference with us is that many 'Halloween' decorations are up around our home year round as basic decor. I actually have a banner in my living room that says 'Everyday is Halloween' lol
We are looking at rearranging/reworking our kitchen to allow me to create a coffee nook. I'm really excited about it! We've already picked up some stuff for it.

  11. Some great idea, I especially like planting some fall flowers. My favourite season is summer, so I'll be enjoying the last three weeks of it as much as possible! Then it's back to my normal routine until the winter holidays.

  12. I don't rush it with fall but I do love your tips. Rugs, candles and books - my favorite combo

  15. Fall is my favorite season because it is when I start cooking and baking a ton! I'm a huge pumpkin spice fan, and the smell is amazing. Easily a favorite way to enjoy fall is through making things cozy with blankets and some pumpkin spice.

    1. Hi, Dee. Yes, I am sad for winter, but as for fall, I guess after living in Colorado for so long after moving from AZ, I just feel like I can experience a real fall season. But I am dreading winter. 😕 Thank you for stopping by.

  20. Steph these are great ideas! I can't wait to try some of these. I live in a small apartment and very little storage space. So I usually put decorations on my TV stand, the stand by my front door and hang a wreath on my door. I see here that there are so many other things I can add.
Thanks bunches for sharing these great ideas with Sweet Tea & Friends this month.
