Happenings: Mini Vacation and Half Alive Persona World Tour

April turned out to be a fantastic month for us, and I hope it was for you too! We celebrated our oldest daughter's 14th birthday, and it’s hard for me to accept that she’s no longer a little girl. We enjoyed a homemade Oreo cookie cake, opened gifts, and had dinner at Old Chicago. Her biggest surprise was tickets to the Half Alive Persona Tour.

Before our vacation, our youngest daughter completed a crochet project using the Woobles crochet kit we bought her. It was her first crochet project that she completed on her own. This kit is great for beginners.

Since the concert was in Denver, we decided to keep our mini vacation local. We stayed at the Curtis Denver Hotel for the second time and enjoyed a week-long stay. We mainly walked around, leaving our car parked in the parking garage, and the weather was mostly nice and cool. Around the area, we captured some really cool art on buildings.

On the morning of the concert, we had a lovely breakfast and visited the Denver Museum of Illusions. Although the museum is small, it features a variety of illusions, many of which are interactive. It was a fun way to pass the time.

After some exploring, we returned to our hotel room to freshen up for the concert. Last year, we attended a Twenty One Pilots concert, but this year our oldest wanted to see Half Alive's Persona World Tour, which also featured openings by Mehro and The Walters. The concert was an absolute blast, and we all had a great time. We laughed, sang, and, most importantly, enjoyed being together.

On the other days of our stay, we took advantage of a free day at the Denver Art Museum. If you find yourself in the area, I highly recommend visiting both this museum and the Denver Firefighters Museum. We enjoyed a self-guided tour of the historic firehouse. Our mornings were filled with breakfast and a hot cup of coffee, while our oldest daughter savored tea, and the youngest enjoyed her blended frappuccino.

Evenings were spent at the 16th Street Mall, where we enjoyed live music. During our vacation, we also attended a block party for the Colorado Avalanche hockey team, which featured fantastic live music performances and various events to support the team. It was a fun experience for everyone. We even had the chance to see the Celly Squad, an interactive drum team, which was amazing!

If you're ever in downtown Denver, don't forget to check out
Ichigo Matcha. The girls enjoyed strawberry and matcha ice cream.

We grabbed coffee on our last morning in Denver and visited My Favorite Muffin (Denver). It was tough to choose just one muffin from their extensive selection. I opted for a berry muffin, while my husband chose the apple pie muffin, and the girls went for chocolate chip and banana nut muffins.

Overall, our mini vacation was wonderful, and we managed to fit so much into just a week. I’m already looking forward to our next mini vacation. Thank you, April, for being so great to us

  1. Wow, it looks like so much fun! I have not been to the Museum of Illusions--I'll have to check it out. If you haven't been to the Selfie Museum in Denver, you should visit. It's small and a little silly, but kinda fun. :) Happy birthday to your oldest! Visiting from the Crazy Little Lovebirds linkup.

If you love finding new DIY ideas and learning from other bloggers, you’re in the perfect spot! We just picked up our youngest daughter from summer camp yesterday. She had so much fun and met new people. The drive to her camp was beautiful. When we dropped her off last week, I took this picture of a cow as it passed by.  At that moment, I was reminded of all the beauty that surrounds us. Here in Colorado, like many other places, we are battling wildfires. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected, including families, wildlife, firefighters, and others who have been working so hard to deal with these fires. It's been dry and windy, and we could honestly use some moisture. Wishing you all a ...
