Simple days...

Lately...  I've been sipping on hot tea, with lemon and honey. I'm generally not picky when it comes down to tea, but I have been drinking decaf.  -This has been my evening pick-me-up drink. Hot, and simply soothing.  It snowed for one day. Our pug is not a fan of the snow; so when it snows he makes his way out in a hurry and runs in as soon as possible. On this day we decided to have a play date with a friend and her son. It was nice. -The little ones had so much fun. And it's so nice sitting, enjoying the adult conversation.  Morning time, I spend it preparing breakfast for my little picky eater. -Apples, waffles, and yogurt. She seems to enjoy dipping her apples into her yogurt. After breakfast, we work on a simple craft. -I take this quiet time for just my daughter, and me. -It's very peaceful. We have been going onto her Abcmouse.com. We have been learning about opposites and enjoying our time reading a few of our favorite boo...

Preparing dinner...

Over the years preparing dinner in our home has changed quite a bit. There once was a time that it was just my husband and me. Before we even came across our pug and had our beautiful daughter. Those were the times we would sip on a glass of wine, and enjoy some one on one conversation. We would laugh and just enjoy our time together preparing a meal.  Now that we have our pug and our little one...I often find myself tripping over a sneaky pug trying to sneak into the kitchen. Our daughter yells, "Get out of the kitchen". Our daughter normally stands on her play stool and says; "Mommy, let me help you make food".  I'm always delighted to have her help. I turn on our tiny kitchen radio and we sing while washing, chopping, and gathering ingredients for our meal.  I've been making decaf iced tea and using the In the raw monk fruit sweetener. It's definitely a change, but a good change. We have even switched to decaf coffee.-We h...

Each day of our lives we make deposits in the memory banks of our children.  -- Charles R. Swindoll Morning-Creating art. Sunny day- A stroll through the neighborhood with her lamb Putumayo Kids- Hooray my Cd arrived! I'm part of a moms-meet group online, and as one of my rewards, I chose to receive this CD.  It includes some songs from around the world. So we have been dancing and enjoying our mornings. Block-building, and some hammering as well. I've started a new journal. - Life can sometimes get somewhat hectic. -When it all seems to calm down, and our days seem a little longer, and a bit more peaceful; I enjoy the moments I spend with my family. This year; will be much different from last year. I'm always ready, and happy for a change. It's the cycle of life.  I've been slacking a little on my blogging. -With sunny days, long walks, clay sculpting, block-building, book reading, and some journal writing.- I'm a little...

DIY-3 Tier Play Cake Stand

DIY 3-Tier Play Cake Stand Our daughter absolutely loves baking in her play kitchen. She enjoys baking pastries and serving them with tea. I figured I'd make her a 3-tier cake stand. I'm happy with it, and she loves it! Here's what you need to do if you would like to make... Materials :  Empty box  glue stick  hot glue gun  marker  scissors  craft paper   3 TP rolls Start off by finding a round object. Using your marker trace your round object on your empty box. I used a medium size box and traced out 3 circles. Once you are finished cut each circle out.  Next, using your marker trace 3 circles onto your craft paper. Cut them all out and glue the craft paper on your cut-out box pieces.   Take your 3 tp rolls and glue some craft paper around each one. Once that is finished, take your hot glue gun and start gluing each tp roll to your cut-out circle pieces. You may have to hold each piece down for ...
