Preparing dinner...

Over the years preparing dinner in our home has changed quite a bit. There once was a time that it was just my husband and me. Before we even came across our pug and had our beautiful daughter. Those were the times we would sip on a glass of wine, and enjoy some one on one conversation. We would laugh and just enjoy our time together preparing a meal.

Now that we have our pug and our little one...I often find myself tripping over a sneaky pug trying to sneak into the kitchen. Our daughter yells, "Get out of the kitchen".
Our daughter normally stands on her play stool and says; "Mommy, let me help you make food".  I'm always delighted to have her help. I turn on our tiny kitchen radio and we sing while washing, chopping, and gathering ingredients for our meal.

I've been making decaf iced tea and using the In the raw monk fruit sweetener. It's definitely a change, but a good change. We have even switched to decaf coffee.-We have our reasons. :)  So while preparing dinner; my husband and I will chat over an evening cup of coffee. It's nice and relaxing. But I don't want to lead you to think it never gets hectic while I prepare dinner. Oh my, that would be a lie! It does and I still enjoy those moments we spend in the kitchen as a family. It's strange to think that there was once a time that it was just my husband and me. Now our home seems more lively and vibrant.

  1. You're so right! It's amazing how drastically our lives can change. Yet, it's still fantastic at the same time.

It's absolutely adorable that your little one wants to help out in the kitchen. :) I love spending quality time with my son. Especially over baking/cooking!

  2. I'm glad it's working for you! Dinner time is hectic, isn't it? My kids seem to be at their neediest while I'm trying to cook. They do like to help, though, and that makes it run a lot more smoothly than if I leave them to their own devices while I try to do it all myself! :)

  3. I think it would be impossible to believe that most of your days are rainbows and butterflies. LOL! I know that life can get crazy and hectic and sometimes your daughter might have a bad day. But, you mostly remember the good times! Which is important.

Succulent Centerpiece using Dollar Tree Items

Looking to add some greenery to your space?  Hello everyone! Today, we’re going to create a quick and simple succulent display using a round baking pan from Dollar Tree. I completed this craft a while ago, but forgot to share it with you. It's an easy project, and all the materials—except for the spray paint—were purchased at Dollar Tree. You can make this lovely decoration in just 10 minutes. Let’s get started on this succulent decoration together! Materials -One baking pan -Spray paint -Stones/rocks -Crushed glass -Artificial succulents -One glass candle holder Start by applying spray paint to the baking pan. I had a bronze color from a previous project, and it would be a great opportunity to use it again. When applying spray paint, make sure to cover the surrounding area and ensure that the space is well-ventilated.  Once you have painted the pan, allow the paint to dry. I used a heating tool to speed up the drying process, but if you prefer, you can let it air dry, which m...

Lately: Things That Have Made My Heart Happy

Lately, I’ve been holding onto the small things—the gentle, unexpected moments that slip in between the busy ones and remind me how much beauty there is in simply being here, together. We’re almost stepping into April, and even though this month has brought its share of mishaps and little detours, it has also offered us so many soft, shining memories. The kind that settle in quietly and stay. These are the moments that have made my heart happy… Welcoming Spring With Fresh Flowers One morning at the market, I picked up a small bundle of spring flowers—nothing extravagant, just simple blooms in soft colors that felt like a whisper of the season ahead. Bringing them home and placing them on the table instantly brightened the whole space. It felt like inviting spring inside, letting a little bit of newness and hope settle into our everyday rhythm. Sunsets That Slow the World Down Evening after evening, the sky has been putting on a show—warm gold melting into rose, fading into deep violet....

Keeping Blogging Positive: The Do’s and Don’ts of Community Support

The Do’s and Don’ts in a Blogging Community If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years of blogging, it’s that the community can be one of the best parts of the whole experience — when we’re actually supporting each other. Blogging isn’t just hitting publish and hoping someone reads it. It’s connecting, showing up for one another, and creating a space where everyone feels welcome to share their voice. But let’s be honest: not every corner of the blogging world feels that way. Sometimes people forget that behind every blog is a real person doing their best. So I wanted to put together a simple, down‑to‑earth list of do’s and don’ts — the things that genuinely help build a positive blogging community, and the things that… well, don’t. Nothing complicated, nothing dramatic. Just the kind of common‑sense, supportive habits that make blogging more enjoyable for all of us. The Do’s: How We Can Lift Each Other Up Do show support in ways that feel natural to you Support doesn’t have to b...
