Cloth diaper days

We're enjoying our cloth diaper journey. It's all new to us. But we're getting the hang of it. I'm still pretty busy with nursing our little one and our oldest demanding I stop feeding her sister to play with her more! :) But now we are on a better schedule where my time with them is equally shared.

What we're using :
Cloth inserts
G diaper pants
Bum genius cloth sprayer
Waterproof pail liner
Wet/dry bag
Spray pal splatter shield

 For our homemade wipes:
GroVia  -Reusable cloth diaper wipes
Cj's butter cleaner (Sweet orange scent)

When making our wipes. We make just enough for the day. I don't want it sitting for too long and I rather wash them when I am washing the cloth inserts. I bought 3 packets worth. -Making sure I had more than enough.

When we're out and about I use the wet/dry bag. I place soiled diapers into the wet section and dry diapers remain in the zipped dry section.

We recently purchased our diaper sprayer and spray pal. I use the diaper sprayer to spray down the cloth and cloth wipes. But first I insert the cloth into the spray pal. This helps with keeping water from spraying all over the place.  Once I'm finished spraying everything down, I place it all in the trash bin in the pail liner. And once I'm ready to wash a load I just insert it all into the washer along with the pail liner. -So everything gets washed. It's actually really simple. -And I'm honestly wondering why I never considered doing this with our first!

Do you or did you use cloth diapers on your little ones?
What did you enjoy the most when using cloth diapers?
I love hearing from my readers. :)

Welcome new readers!

  1. I'm cloth diapering my youngest right now, and I also wish that I had started with my oldest! We use mainly pocket diapers, kawaiis are my favorites. Aren't cloth diapers just so much cuter?

    1. Kaylene, yes they are so much cuter. And way easy once you get the hang of it. We have a routine going and it's great. I guess maybe with my first I just wasn't sure on what to do and where to start. But now there are so many resources out there. So happy that we're doing it now. :)

  2. I did cloth with my son. But I just got tired of it., I did it for a full year and just said I couldn't any longer. Then I switched to The Honest Company. I love them. I will just them again when we have another baby. Right now we are just working on potty training and it just sucks...

    1. Awe, the potty training will get easier. :) I will only cloth diaper up to the point of potty training her. It was pretty easy potty training our first. -Hopefully the go around will be the same.

  3. I wish I had knowledge about cloth diapers with our first one but she was surprise so we didn't have time for it. I've heard positive and negatives about it. I wondered if they leak through? The cleaning must be a pain but I bet you'll save money in the long run :) I might do this for our next little one. Some parents use Honest diapers or Earth's Best Diapers when they go out is this something you do too?

    1. Maritza, honestly I'm still learning all about cloth diapering. :) It's getting easier each day. The ones that I am using are the g diapers. (We are using the cloth inserts with it and not the disposables) There is a plastic liner that inserts into the g pants. It's called the g pouch. We put the cloth onto the g pouch. -We have had no leaks at all with these diapers so far. I am nursing our daughter and so her poops are so easy to clean up. We use the sprayer to spray them first. When I am out I use a wet/dry bag to store her diapers in.

Colorful Summer Flower: Recycled Paper Towel DIY

Looking to bring a little sunshine into your space without visiting the craft store? This whimsical summer flower decoration makes great use of what you already have—think beads, pom poms, a humble paper towel tube, and a splash of acrylic paint. Bonus: it’s the perfect way to reuse an old frame and welcome summer in style! What You’ll Need: 1 paper towel tube (emptied, of course!) Acrylic paint (I chose a deeper pink) Craft pom poms (yellow makes a great center!) Assorted beads (medium for the stem, smaller for embellishing the petals) Foam letters (for your summer message) A reused frame (square or any shape of your choice) Scissors Hot glue gun Creating your summer flower decoration Cut the Tube and Shape the Petals :  Start by cutting the paper towel tube into four evenly-sized sections. Each section will serve as a petal. You should be left with four rings. Next, flatten each ring, then gently reshape it to form soft ovals. These will mimic delicate flower...

DIY Tea Tin Planter for Sweet Mint

Today’s tiny DIY win: turning an empty lemon‑ginger tea tin into a planter for a sweet mint plant that needed some love. I cleaned the tin, added drainage, and nestled the mint inside. It instantly brightened up the space — the colors on the tin and the fresh green leaves look so sweet together. I love giving everyday items a second life, especially when they end up this cute. Quick Video Tutorial  I began this little project by cleaning out an empty metal tea container that I had saved. It still held a soft scent of lemon and ginger, and I loved the idea of giving it a second life. Once I washed and dried it, the container felt ready for a new purpose.   Next, I used a finishing nail and a hammer to create a few drainage holes in the bottom of the tin. Since metal containers don’t have natural drainage, this step helps keep the roots healthy and prevents the soil from becoming soggy. Having prepared the container, I carefully removed the sweet mint from its original pot. The ...
