Currently reading.- A list of books to help you feel good, eat healthier, and live happy!

I am excited to share with you the books I am currently reading. My focus is on healthy food alternatives, healthier lifestyles, and ways to nourish my whole body and feel good.

Understanding what nourishes my body and makes me feel whole has become increasingly important to me over the past few years. Therefore, I would like to briefly summarize my thoughts on each book that I have been enjoying lately. Please note that this is not a sponsored or paid-for post.

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you may already know that I was diagnosed with endometriosis in my mid-20s. This medical condition occurs when the tissue lining the uterus grows outside of it, sometimes spreading to other parts of the body. It can result in various symptoms, including inflammation, pain, irregular bleeding, and heavy periods. If you're interested in learning more about endometriosis, you can check out the link I've provided below: https://www.endofound.org/endometriosis.

It took my husband and me around six years to conceive our first daughter. Before I was able to conceive, my doctor performed a laparoscopy. Once the diagnosis of endometriosis was confirmed, my doctor conducted surgery to remove the cysts and growths caused by the condition.

I feel blessed to have two wonderful daughters. To manage my endometriosis, I have made several changes to my diet, and I take daily supplements. These changes have helped me manage the pain and improve my overall health.

Now that you know a bit about my journey, let’s talk about something else. Are you interested in exploring some wonderful books with me? I’ll provide a brief summary of each book, and I hope to inspire you to live a healthier lifestyle as well.

1. Whole New You, Tia Mowry

I borrowed a wonderful book from my local library after discovering that Tia, whom I have always admired along with her sister Tamera, was diagnosed with endometriosis. This sparked my curiosity about her cookbook.

The book contains various recipes designed to help you achieve a balanced and healthier lifestyle. Tia shares insights about foods that can heal as well as those that may cause harm. It includes recipes for soups, main dishes, and desserts, providing a wealth of knowledge.

One section worth highlighting is the goals section, which is particularly useful for those new to a healthier lifestyle. Even if you've been eating healthy for a while, this list can still inspire you to set new objectives.

Additionally, Tia has included a 10-day meal plan that covers breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. I am truly enjoying this book and sincerely believe it is worth your time, too!

2. Eat. Nourish. Glow, Amelia Freer

It is important to prioritize our physical well-being by actively listening to our bodies and providing them with the care they deserve. Each of our bodies is unique and deserves our full attention, nourishment, and affection. Recently, I came across a book that suggested keeping a food diary for two weeks to track our eating habits.
This practice allows us to monitor our snacking, fluid intake, and the impact of specific foods and beverages on our overall health. The book also highlights the importance of exercise, supplements, and other related topics. As an avid coffee and tea enthusiast, I found it particularly interesting that the book advocates for high-quality coffee and provides tips for overcoming sugar addiction. I honestly recommend this book to anyone who hasn't read it yet and who is passionate about leading a healthy lifestyle.

3. The Naked Foods Cookbook, Margaret Floyd/ James Barry

This book features a fantastic collection of whole-food recipes along with valuable advice on food preparation, shopping, and cooking. It includes a wide variety of recipes, ranging from soups and stews to desserts and salads. I find it especially helpful for meal prepping during the week, and it offers gluten-free recipes that are ideal for those on a gluten-free diet or anyone looking to explore gluten-free options.

One chapter that particularly stood out to me focused on cooking techniques. It was both informative and engaging, and I plan to experiment with some of the techniques in my own cooking.

Overall, I am thrilled to have added this book to my reading list, and I look forward to trying out some of the recipes in the coming weeks. Are you currently reading any interesting books? I would love to hear your recommendations, so please feel free to leave a comment below or reach out to me via email.

Sincerely,
Stephanie

  1. I am definitely going to check out the whole foods cookbook. We have been saying for a while now that we need some new recipes and ways to eat better and healthier. Keeping a food diary is scary for so many people. You like to tell yourself you're eating well until you document it all than it becomes very eye opening. Especially sugar. It is a tough habit to break but well worth it.
