A Few Happenings

My youngest's volleyball team has won every game since the start of the season. We're so proud of her and her team. We have two more games left this season.

This week, someone slammed our side fence with their motorcycle. Thank goodness for cameras! My husband went over to check if the individual was okay, and now we have made arrangements to get them to pay for the damage.

It snowed for two days, and we were happy for the moisture.

I tried a copycat version of the Starbucks sugar plum Danish recipe, and it turned out great! Instead of plum, I used black cherry jam. It was equally delicious.

Congratulations to our featured bloggers

Life of 2 Snowbirds shared a travel post about Saguaro National Park in Tucson, Arizona. I really enjoyed this post because I spent a lot of time in Tucson when I lived in Arizona for many years. It’s filled with great details!

Melynda at Scratchmade Food for Hungry People shared her delightful recipe for Whole Wheat Jam Crumble Bars. These bars sound delicious! You can choose your favorite jam and enjoy the treat.

  1. Ugh about your fence and the motorcycle accident! That's great that you had camera footage of it. Glad no one was hurt (other than your fence). And congrats to your daughter's volleyball team. Hope they can keep the perfect record through the next two games.
Thanks for featuring my post from last week!

  2. Your Danish sounds delicious Stephanie! Wow snow, we're in a heat wave here on the East coast of Australia at the moment with bushfires raging not far from us.

Thank you for hosting. I'm sitting at #12 this week.
    Blessings, Jennifer

  4. It's so good of you to care for the motor rider. But indeed, he should pay for damages to your fence.

DIY Tea Tin Planter for Sweet Mint

Today’s tiny DIY win: turning an empty lemon‑ginger tea tin into a planter for a sweet mint plant that needed some love. I cleaned the tin, added drainage, and nestled the mint inside. It instantly brightened up the space — the colors on the tin and the fresh green leaves look so sweet together. I love giving everyday items a second life, especially when they end up this cute. Quick Video Tutorial  I began this little project by cleaning out an empty metal tea container that I had saved. It still held a soft scent of lemon and ginger, and I loved the idea of giving it a second life. Once I washed and dried it, the container felt ready for a new purpose.   Next, I used a finishing nail and a hammer to create a few drainage holes in the bottom of the tin. Since metal containers don’t have natural drainage, this step helps keep the roots healthy and prevents the soil from becoming soggy. Having prepared the container, I carefully removed the sweet mint from its original pot. The ...

It started with my husband having a cough, sore throat, sneezing, and whole-body aches. Of course, that was passed on to the rest of us, but we have been so fortunate to just have a sore throat. This calls for plenty of hydration, vitamin C, and occasional medication. I hope you all had a nice week. Just yesterday, the weather reached 102 degrees! It definitely was hot out.
