The feeling of Autumn.

Beautiful evening sky

Lemon bread

Sugar/olive oil scrub

The nights are cooler, and we seem to enjoy more time out on the porch. Evenings are spent in the kitchen with our back sliding door open so the gentle breeze can make its way in while we prepare dinner. Over the weekend, we enjoyed a nice bike ride. It's been something our daughter has wanted to do since we had taken her on her first one a week or so ago. I really enjoyed the view of the mountains, and just being out enjoying the fresh air. The evenings here in Colorado are really starting to feel like Autumn.

Over the weekend my husband made his delicious chocolate coffee truffles. (I've made sure to do portion control, it's just so good! I also baked some lemon bread. (The kind you find at Starbucks.) I set out on a mission to find a recipe that was similar and finally came across one. I was thrilled, and had to bake some. :)

This weekend I've been enjoying the nice scent of cinnamon apples. Since it was starting to feel like Autumn in the evening I started burning my candles. I also enjoy using our tiny crock pot and placing cinnamon sticks, orange peels, etc. Just plug it in, and your home will smell absolutely wonderful.

I've been going through a few of my bins to gather a  few of my Fall decorations, can you tell I'm excited? I'm pretty sure you are too. :) I'm also patiently awaiting the arrival of the pumpkin spice latte to make its way back to Starbucks. (I'll probably try finding a nice recipe for pumpkin spice creamer). Oh, the joys of Autumn!

This weekend, I also put together a sugar/olive oil scrub and soaked my feet for a few. My husband is always telling me to take some time and do something I enjoy. So I soaked my feet and checked up on the latest news. It was very relaxing. My feet were in desperate need of this, since the day before I participated in some step aerobics. (It's Monday and my legs are still sore from the Step and the bike ride.)

So how did you spend your weekend? Is it starting to feel like falling over where you live? I'd like to say hello to my newest readers, and Google + followers. I'm thrilled to have you on this journey with me. Enjoy~

  1. that lemon bread looks delicious! Our weather here in central florida is like we are still in summer. Hoping it would cool down soon but that won't happen until late oct/nov.

  4. Loved the pictures. I am a four season girl. I love all the seasons for different reasons, but I'm always ready for whichever one is next. Even winter!

  5. Angela, thank you! That's wonderful, you know I moved here to Co, from Arizona, and so I think I am better off with the cooler weather. (But not the snow) lol

Succulent Centerpiece using Dollar Tree Items

Looking to add some greenery to your space?  Hello everyone! Today, we’re going to create a quick and simple succulent display using a round baking pan from Dollar Tree. I completed this craft a while ago, but forgot to share it with you. It's an easy project, and all the materials—except for the spray paint—were purchased at Dollar Tree. You can make this lovely decoration in just 10 minutes. Let’s get started on this succulent decoration together! Materials -One baking pan -Spray paint -Stones/rocks -Crushed glass -Artificial succulents -One glass candle holder Start by applying spray paint to the baking pan. I had a bronze color from a previous project, and it would be a great opportunity to use it again. When applying spray paint, make sure to cover the surrounding area and ensure that the space is well-ventilated.  Once you have painted the pan, allow the paint to dry. I used a heating tool to speed up the drying process, but if you prefer, you can let it air dry, which m...

Lately: Things That Have Made My Heart Happy

Lately, I’ve been holding onto the small things—the gentle, unexpected moments that slip in between the busy ones and remind me how much beauty there is in simply being here, together. We’re almost stepping into April, and even though this month has brought its share of mishaps and little detours, it has also offered us so many soft, shining memories. The kind that settle in quietly and stay. These are the moments that have made my heart happy… Welcoming Spring With Fresh Flowers One morning at the market, I picked up a small bundle of spring flowers—nothing extravagant, just simple blooms in soft colors that felt like a whisper of the season ahead. Bringing them home and placing them on the table instantly brightened the whole space. It felt like inviting spring inside, letting a little bit of newness and hope settle into our everyday rhythm. Sunsets That Slow the World Down Evening after evening, the sky has been putting on a show—warm gold melting into rose, fading into deep violet....

Keeping Blogging Positive: The Do’s and Don’ts of Community Support

The Do’s and Don’ts in a Blogging Community If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years of blogging, it’s that the community can be one of the best parts of the whole experience — when we’re actually supporting each other. Blogging isn’t just hitting publish and hoping someone reads it. It’s connecting, showing up for one another, and creating a space where everyone feels welcome to share their voice. But let’s be honest: not every corner of the blogging world feels that way. Sometimes people forget that behind every blog is a real person doing their best. So I wanted to put together a simple, down‑to‑earth list of do’s and don’ts — the things that genuinely help build a positive blogging community, and the things that… well, don’t. Nothing complicated, nothing dramatic. Just the kind of common‑sense, supportive habits that make blogging more enjoyable for all of us. The Do’s: How We Can Lift Each Other Up Do show support in ways that feel natural to you Support doesn’t have to b...
