DIY Holiday Glass Candle Display- An Upcycled Craft

Learn how to create a beautiful holiday glass candle display using upcycled materials with this DIY craft project. Perfect for adding a festive touch to your home decor. Find step-by-step instructions and inspiration for this creative and sustainable holiday project.

Recently, I have been feeling very festive and have been enjoying decorating, baking, and much more. I noticed that I had a few glass jars and old candle jars around my home, and I wanted to create something simple. I thought a candle display would be great and easy to create. If you have any pasta jars, old candle jars, or any glass jars, this craft is perfect for you!

For this project, you will need the following materials:

  • Frosted Glass Spray (I used Rust-Oleum)
  • Gold wire
  • Stretch cord (optional)
  • Holiday greenery, berries, and any holiday decoration can be added
  • Flameless tealights
  • Mini ornaments (I used one for this project)

You can find flameless tealights at your local Big Lots store. A pack of 10 with extra batteries costs only five dollars, which is a great price!

Applying frosted glass spray

To start, prepare an area to spray your glass jars. You can use a plastic bag and ensure that the area is well-ventilated.

Next, take your frosted glass spray and apply it evenly over your glass jars. You can also spray the inside of each jar.

Once you have applied the spray, set your jars aside and allow them to dry completely. I allowed my jars to dry for 35 minutes, but depending on the weather and how many coats you apply, you may want to let them dry a little longer. My garage was pretty warm, and I also had a fan on.

Decorating your glass jars

To start, wrap the top portion of your glass jars with gold wire. I wrapped the top of my smaller jars with gold wire and used a stretch cord in the middle of my smaller jars. It was much easier to add greenery and tie it off using the gold stretch cord. You can continue with the gold wire or use a stretch cord.

Next, add glitter berries to both jars and one mini ornament to one of the smaller jars. You can also add holiday greenery, berries, and any other holiday decoration to your liking.

For the larger jar, I wrapped gold wire around the top portion and middle of the jar. I then added two glitter berries and a leaf to the jar. This simple addition adds a touch of elegance to your candle display. You can also add holiday greenery, berries, and any other decoration you like.

To add wire to your medium-sized jar, wrap the wire around just the middle section. When you get to the end of the wire wrapped around it, create a small design with the wire by twisting it into a spiral shape. Add two strands of gold wire and repeat the spiral shape. Add two glitter berries, and that’s it!

Next, add flameless tealights to your jars and display them in a window, on a staircase, or on a tray with other holiday decorations. These beautiful glass jars are perfect for adding a touch of elegance to your festive decor.

Thank you for sharing your glass candle design project with me! I hope you have a great time creating it. Don’t forget to share your finished product in the comments below.

It started with my husband having a cough, sore throat, sneezing, and whole-body aches. Of course, that was passed on to the rest of us, but we have been so fortunate to just have a sore throat. This calls for plenty of hydration, vitamin C, and occasional medication. I hope you all had a nice week. Just yesterday, the weather reached 102 degrees! It definitely was hot out. DIY Tea Tin Planter for Sweet Mint

Today’s tiny DIY win: turning an empty lemon‑ginger tea tin into a planter for a sweet mint plant that needed some love. I cleaned the tin, added drainage, and nestled the mint inside. It instantly brightened up the space — the colors on the tin and the fresh green leaves look so sweet together. I love giving everyday items a second life, especially when they end up this cute. Quick Video Tutorial  I began this little project by cleaning out an empty metal tea container that I had saved. It still held a soft scent of lemon and ginger, and I loved the idea of giving it a second life. Once I washed and dried it, the container felt ready for a new purpose.   Next, I used a finishing nail and a hammer to create a few drainage holes in the bottom of the tin. Since metal containers don’t have natural drainage, this step helps keep the roots healthy and prevents the soil from becoming soggy. Having prepared the container, I carefully removed the sweet mint from its original pot. The ...

Colorful Summer Flower: Recycled Paper Towel DIY

Looking to bring a little sunshine into your space without visiting the craft store? This whimsical summer flower decoration makes great use of what you already have—think beads, pom poms, a humble paper towel tube, and a splash of acrylic paint. Bonus: it’s the perfect way to reuse an old frame and welcome summer in style! What You’ll Need: 1 paper towel tube (emptied, of course!) Acrylic paint (I chose a deeper pink) Craft pom poms (yellow makes a great center!) Assorted beads (medium for the stem, smaller for embellishing the petals) Foam letters (for your summer message) A reused frame (square or any shape of your choice) Scissors Hot glue gun Creating your summer flower decoration Cut the Tube and Shape the Petals :  Start by cutting the paper towel tube into four evenly-sized sections. Each section will serve as a petal. You should be left with four rings. Next, flatten each ring, then gently reshape it to form soft ovals. These will mimic delicate flower...
